Data Science & Analytics @ Glassdoor

We work on a wide variety of problems. We make our products & teams smarter. We drive product prioritization & inform business strategy by developing a deep understanding of our users and clients. This Role

The Lead Data Scientist will head up our B2B Marketing and Sales Data Science & Analytics team. The person will lead a team of 2 – 4 Data Scientists & Analysts working with the B2B Marketing and Sales teams at Glassdoor.  You will work closely with B2B and Sales teams to help them solve problems that require data science (big data/coding/machine learning/statistical) skills. Your output could be external or internal facing data-driven products, insights, or recommendations.

A typical week would comprise of brainstorming with B2B Product Directors and Head of Sales on new project ideas, building a statistical / ML model prototype, interacting with the data engineering team on modeling specs & implementation, analyzing the health of our Sales and B2B programs or building dashboards for the business teams to consume.

The ideal candidate will be extremely results driven & passionate about winning. You exercise very sound judgment and have the ability to balance sophistication with simplicity, scientific rigor with pragmatism and agility with quality.

A sampling of projects you will work on – 

  • Determining market and product improvement opportunities for Glassdoor Free Employer Accounts
  • Demonstrating to clients how Glassdoor influences applicant behavior, e.g. through user journey visualizations
  • Developing sales material and strategy with Product Marketing
  • Using modeling to help employers write job descriptions that maximize applications
  • Improving on predictive tools (e.g. lead scores) for B2B Marketing and Sales
  • Participating in novel research with the Glassdoor Economic Research team, such as understanding what makes people leave their jobs.

Requirements 

  • 5+ years of experience in a relevant quantitative field, ideally in an Internet company. Hands-on experience with statistics & machine learning algorithms
  • 1+ year of team management experience
  • Proficient in SQL and Python/R
  • Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills
  • Extremely strong business analytics & product intuition. Some consulting experience a plus
  • Strong and persuasive communication skills
  • Quantitative Degree – like Statistics, Operations Research, Physics, Computer Science, Economics, etc. MS/PhD preferred
