Decision Science @ Glassdoor

The Decision Science team drives data-driven strategy and decision-making across the company through predictive analytics, testing and optimization. We facilitate product prioritization and inform business strategy by developing a deep understanding of our users and clients. We work with teams across the company from Product to Sales to Marketing to Business Operations on a variety of projects including lead scoring, offline marketing ROI analysis, email campaign optimization, and business forecasting. If gaining exposure to a wide variety of business functions across a fast-growing company excites you, this is the place to be.

This Role

As a member of the Decision Science team, you will be an integral part of Glassdoor’s decision-making process. You will own the analytical pipeline end-to-end including translating business questions into analytical questions, identifying and creating relevant datasets, drawing insights from that data, and crafting a compelling story from those insights.

Example projects that you could work on include:

  • Use advanced analytics to predict renewal and growth of our customers.
  • Causal inference analysis of why a job post is getting more / less applications than other similar job posts.
  • Locate jobs marketplace inefficiencies and deliver actionable insights to solve them creatively.
  • Understand user churn to identify drivers and predict high-risk segments.
  • Analyze A/B tests to understand new features in our job search experience and inform future improvements.

The ideal candidate is a naturally curious, self-motivated learner with a solid foundation of quantitative, analytical, and technical skills. You are also an effective communicator, comfortable with translating between data insights and business strategy.

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s/PhD in a quantitative field (e.g. statistics, operations research, math, quantitative social sciences)
  • Strong experience in data and business analysis
  • Experience with SQL and Python/R
  • Knowledge of statistics (e.g. significance testing, regression analysis)
