We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Manager to contribute to a world-class finance organization in a fast growth, pre-IPO environment. The ideal candidate will have operational accounting experience in internet advertising and social media and an eagerness to support all aspects of finance. Strong communication, organizational, analytical and customer service skills are essential. You will be integral to the finance team, and need to be an enthusiastic, proactive, hands-on individual who enjoys a quick-paced startup/pre-IPO environment. 


  • Supervise a team of 3-4 AR accountants
  • Oversee processing of billing, credit and collections and commission clawback processes
  • Lead the business process optimization and automation of billing, collections and commission, and clawback processes
  • Prepare credit memo analysis
  • Prepare, record, verify, analyzes and reports accounts receivable transactions, and posts customer payments on a timely basis. Ensures timely collection of cash receipts from customers. Assists with collection accounts that have escalated from A/R
  • Prepare sales returns reserve and allowance for doubtful accounts reserve
  • Lead external audit requests for supporting documentation
  • Provide best-practices perspective and document AR best policies and business procedures
  • Implement/improve client credit evaluation process
  • Prepare/review month-end closing activities pertaining to accounts receivable and collections
  • Ensure billing accuracy, while coordinating billing/invoice requirements to ensure sales and customer requirements are being met accordingly, within a high volume environment
  • Work with clients, sales teams, sales operations, implementation and IT to reach optimal solutions to difficult issues
  • Exercise business judgment regarding sales representatives requests on behalf of clients.


  • Minimum of 5-7 years of work experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years of AR supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting or finance
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate teams and drive process improvement functioning as a both a “player” and a “coach”
  • Experience in high transaction volume environments is essential (4000+ invoices per month)
  • Strong NetSuite AR experience required
  • Strong organizational skills required, specifically task prioritization and effective time management.
  • Must be able to exercise judgment and critical thinking to understand issues, demonstrate resourcefulness, and mobilize the team to solve problems in a timely manner.
  • Inquisitive, highly motivated, always exploring, and asking "what if" questions – challenging current interpretations of data and finding the most critical metrics in a dynamic environment.
