Security Operations Analyst

Glassdoor is looking for a Security Operations Analyst to join the Information Security team. This position is best suited for someone that has a deep passion for information security and is interested in gaining experience across broad aspects of Information Security.

The Security Operations Analyst will maintain and operating various technologies and processes also need to be able to identify areas that can benefit from improvements and not hesitate to make recommendations to processes and procedures. This role is located at our offices in Mill Valley, CA.  


  • Perform Computer Security Incident Response activities and coordinate with other teams to record and report incidents
  • Monitor and analyze Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) to identify security issues for remediation
  • Conduct security research to keep abreast of latest security issues and technologies
  • Assists with implementation of countermeasures and mitigating controls
  • Ensures the integrity and protection of networks; systems; and applications by technical enforcement of policies through monitoring of vulnerability sources
  • Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments; including user accounts; application access; file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance
  • Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results
  • Understand, execute, and seek to improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
  • Evaluate access requests and provision access to sensitive systems
  • Assist with daily activities and functions of the team to maintain security posture as well as policy, compliance commitments


  • Passion for Information Security
  • 3+ years of working experience in information security, technical operations, or similar capacities
  • BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent, Information Systems or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with vulnerability management and access management programs
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively with individuals across various levels
  • Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment and effectively collaborate across teams.
  • Exceptional people skills with demonstrated ability to work with both a technical and functional audience.
  • Working knowledge of system architectures, Windows and Mac internals, as well as iOS and android
  • Good understanding of information security principles and IT infrastructure including operating systems, applications, communications and network protocols.
  • Knowledge to utilize solutions built using various coding languages (Java, C#, VBA, Vbscript, Perl and Shell script, etc.)  preferred
  • CISSP, CISA, CISM and other comparative information security certifications are preferred
