Senior Revenue Accountant

Description

We are seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant with Big 4 public accounting and public company revenue accounting experience to be a key contributor to an exciting, fast-paced, high growth organization. We’re looking for someone with a positive attitude and a desire to help strengthen our revenue process to scale with the company’s long term goals.

You will be integral to a 20+ person accounting and finance team and need to be an enthusiastic and hands-on individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Own monthly revenue close including quantitative analysis, account reconciliations, flux analyses and generation of journal entries. Accounts of focus will include: revenue, deferred revenue, A/R, sales commissions, etc.
  • Collaborate with FP&A to analyze forecast versus actuals
  • Partner with legal, sales and sales operations cross-functional teams to ensure revenue recognition process functions smoothly and efficiently
  • Develop, implement and maintain desktop procedures for ongoing revenue accounting activities
  • Assist in maintaining and updating documentation for revenue policies and procedures
  • Aid in the development, testing and documentation of internal controls
  • Assist with external audit through PBC generation and fielding questions
  • Perform BESP/SSP analysis for revenue allocations
  • Research technical revenue guidance and document conclusions as they relate to Glassdoor
  • Review sales arrangements to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with company policy and accounting standards
  • Aid in the coaching and development of junior team members

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related area
  • 3-4 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs, etc.)
  • Ability to manage change and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of tasks

Preferred:

  • CPA designation
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Industry experience in a public company environment
  • In depth knowledge and working experience with ASC 605, ASC 606, IAS 18 and/or IFRS 15
  • Working experience with commissions and deferred commissions
  • Working experience with multiple element arrangements (including VSOE/BESP/SSP)
  • Operational experience in performing account reconciliations and booking journal entries
  • NetSuite, RevPro and Salesforce experience
