Director, Global Video

Who you are:

You are a high-performing, creative, and compassionate leader, with an illustrious editorial background and a passion for content strategy and innovation. Reporting to the Senior Director of Entertainment, you’ll hold a global Director-level management role—this requires a proven track record of creating scalable video and interactive content and a strong understanding of business strategy. You thrive at multi-tasking and love to wear many hats—including playing the roles of “coach,” “creative,” and “strategic development.”

Your next challenge:

  • Lead the global entertainment editorial team, including video assignment editors for editorial and STUDIO leads along with our roster of content creators
  • Manage overall budget for the global team
  • Maintain and grow the Editorial Video Team, comprised of both videographers and photographers across news, sport and entertainment
  • Establish workflows between teams
  • Explore and productize distribution of near-live coverage
  • Productize social-first video
  • Optimize and expand video paid assignments through collaboration with STUDIO leads
  • Integrate and evangelize editorial and STUDIO video product through close collaboration with other internal stakeholders
  • Set expectations for editorial and commercial video; empower and train content team to hit and exceed expectations
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and retain top talent and cutting-edge content creators

What you’ll need:

  • 7+ years of editorial/commercial video experience, ideally working in the entertainment sector
  • Knowledge of cutting edge technology including content creation tools (i.e. cameras, editing software, etc.) and distribution methods and platforms
  • Experience managing and motivating teams with wide-ranging skillsets and backgrounds
  • Deep relationships with high-level industry contacts/network
  • Strategic thinking skills and ability to respond to change
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to foster and maintain global relationships via technology, email and in-person
  • Ability to learn quickly the dynamics of Getty Images’ broad product range and familiarize yourself with various key stakeholders so that you can work efficiently and successfully across the business
  • Innovative, curious, passionate and future-driven
  • Emotional intelligence – self-awareness, empathy, and an ability to self-motivate as well as inspire others
