Description

The Inventory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the site / shift, ensuring the highest level of quality of service is provided by our associates, while supporting the policies, goals and objectives and following company safety standards.

This position will be based out of our Brooklyn facility, located at 630 Flushing Avenue, Brooklyn, near the G train.

Essential Functions:


Leadership
* Assist in identification of talent, talent planning, and ongoing development of associates that report to the position

* Develop and encourage associate development for direct reports

* Includes support for leads and associates

* Support coaching conversations in support of the inventory Manager when necessary

* Assist in annual performance appraisals

* Support associate scheduling driven by business needs

* Manage day to day tactical operations for area of responsibility

* Communicate with business partners, including Merchandising and any other necessary business owners

* Oversee delegate to and direct a staff from 5 to up to 25 individuals and move people and resources as necessary to meet the needs of the business as business grows.

* Manage attendance within the team, reassigning as necessary to fill gaps in team

* Guide, direct and motivate shift staff on quality, performance and safety targets to ensure ongoing performance, including employee issues, discipline and conflict resolution

* Aid leadership in troubleshooting problems

* Oversee usage and handling of all equipment used in department including safety, PM’s and report all issues immediately

* Support and participate various company projects, initiatives and programs as needed including holding and participating in daily huddles and other communication programs

* Demonstrate operational principles

* Report all employee issues and accidents to management

* Assist and participate in productivity / setting up production and staff schedules in accordance to budget and/or business needs and ensure all breaks and lunches are taken as required.

* Support and participate various company projects, initiatives and programs as needed including holding and participating in daily huddles and other communication programs

Technical Responsibilities
* Assist leadership with order fulfillment issue that is inventory control related.

* Oversee and direct staff on their day-to-day cycle counts and inventory reconciliation.

* Reconcile post manufacturing inventory issues using Warehouse Management System, SAP.

* Facilitate and monitor department setup and site opening and closing procedures

* Inspect and ensure follow through and compliance with: Food Safety, General Manufacturing Procedures (GMPs), Safety & Sanitation compliance and FoodKick Quality policies; as well as ensure that the work area is safe, clean and organized for all team members to work.

* Oversee usage and handling of all equipment used in department including safety, PM’s and report all issues immediately

* Understand and work through customer complaints

Supervision Received:

* Receives clear, detailed, and specific instructions and consults with Inventory Manager on all matters outside the scope of daily responsibilities/activities

* Interacts with key business owners in support of business objectives

* Trains and assigns work to team members on a daily basis; is able to perform the same work as the group on a daily basis

* Interacts with Fresh Leader

Minimum Qualifications:
* A minimum of six (6) months experience working in a warehouse / manufacturing / food processing environment with previous supervisory experience

* Speak, write, read and interpret written information in English

* Basic math skills and detail oriented

* Able to work a flexible schedule / cover various shifts to include weekends (Saturday and Sunday)

* Ability to work in support of the team

* Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness

* Follow policies and procedures.

* Able to stand for long period of times

* Ability to perform twisting, turning and bending

* Ability to lift a minimum of 40lbs

* Comfortable and able to work overtime based on business needs

* Must be comfortable in warehouse/production environment

* Ability to meet production and accuracy standards in a fast-paced work environment.

* Ability to work in climate from 32 to 38 degrees
Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of SAP

* Knowledge of departmental production processes, materials and production and sanitation techniques

* Strong communication skills both written and oral

* 18 months experience working in a warehouse / manufacturing / food processing environment, ideally with some previous supervisory experience

* Bilingual English / Spanish (spoken and written)

* Experience in a related field a plus

* Ability to understand computer systems to manage work flow within the department of efficiency
