Position Summary: The Ecommerce Merchandiser is Foodkick’s shopkeeper. He or she is responsible for keeping our customer-facing assortments timely, topical, and curated. As the foremost expert in our assortment, he/she will translate product knowledge into curated and compelling go-to-market themes that “nail the moment” for our customers. He/she will also be responsible for implementing and improving: setup of new items, product taxonomy, tagging, search, and cross-sell/recommendation strategies.

We are a small, close-knit team that is working hard to make great food easier to get on a moment's notice. This job will work across 3 locations in Long Island City, NY; East Williamsburg, NY; and Manhattan.

Essential Functions

Storefront Planning:
• With input from merchants, maintain seasonal product “hit-list” for Feed and Today’s Picks

• Own thematic merchandising calendar

• In conjunction with Marketing, create and maintain Foodkick-specific topical events & promotional calendar

• Lead merchandising planning meetings  

• Compile products to Feed & promotions and communicate upcoming promotions to respective buyers

• Design and maintain a visual planogram of upcoming feeds & promotions

• Compile and post tracking of relevant competitive messaging – email, circulars, and in-store – in FK war room.

Storefront Execution:
• In collaboration with Marketing, select images for Feed programming

• Build sections for Feed modules

• Build modules in CMS

• Attach products to modules in CMS

• Update Today’s Picks daily in CMS

• Make changes as needed to modules and their product selection intraday to make Feed better

• Implement relevant promotional pricing

• Maintain storefront taxonomy; organize all products and departments

• Create scheduling for- and adjust- Today’s Picks

Continuous Improvement:
• Optimize product placement to drive business

• Lead work to redefine and organize product taxonomy

• Project manage product promotional campaigns geared to driving volume & basket

• Work with Storefront team to optimize search results

• Create rules/framework to drive % of sales from Feed and Today’s Picks

• Create and distribute regular Promo/Feed trend reporting

• Track Feed module performance

•Analyze promotional results and file for future review


Supervision Received:
• Plans and carries out work assignments and handles problems in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices in the occupation. Consults with Team leader on unique situations which do not have clear precedents.

Supervisory Duties:

• No supervisory responsibility but is responsible for managing a specific function

Minimum Qualifications:

• One (1) year of experience in e-commerce, ideally working in a content management system (CMS)

• Experienced with Microsoft products (Word, PowerPoint)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Excellent listening and verbal communication skills

• Proven organizational and time management skills

• Enjoys operating in a fast-paced, team environment under time constraints
