POSITION: Quality Control Supervisor


REPORTS TO:  Quality Control Produce Manager


Position Summary:

The Quality Control Supervisor (QC) position is to make sure that the established quality assurance system is implemented on a daily basis.   Ensures all products and finished products as well as packaging meet specifications.  The QC Supervisor will also assist in the inbound, replenishment and sanitation process at each site.


Recipe for Success- 


  • Establish the QC goals with the Director of Produce and ensures goals are met
  • Ensure QC procedures are followed on a daily basis
  • Regularly ensure compliance of all raw materials, packaging materials, products in process, and finished products to specific
  • Maintain SOPs for all active products, and work collaboratively with members of the production department to verify SOPs.
  • Monitor product handling, shipping, and storage conditions.
  • Follows daily reports and control/validate results of controls done by QC
  • Monitors the implementation of procedures through internal audits
  • Organizes and coordinates suppliers annual audits and follow ups
  • Tests the traceability and recall process
  • Continuously monitor that employees follow Good Manufacturing Practices and follows up on corrective and preventive actions
  • Performs QC training of Production Associates



Key ingredients –

  • Two (2+) years of food quality experience as well as two (2) years’ experience as a Supervisor of similar job
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends and be able to keep a flexible schedule during high volume production periods
  • Must be willing and able to work in a refrigerated environment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk for up to 10–12 hours, willing and able to frequently push, pull, squat, bend, and reach, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • English Required - Bilingual preferred (English and Spanish)
  • High School diploma

  • Current knowledge of regulatory government requirements (i.e. FDA, USDA, etc.) rules and regulations
  • Quality systems standards, including GMPs
  • Expertise in food safety (raw and ready-to-eat)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Time management and prioritization skills
  • Must be resourceful and possess strong problem solving skills
  • Must possess strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, train and develop a team
