Senior Manager, Inventory Control, MFG

POSITION: Manager of Inventory Control-MFG


REPORTS TO:  Director of Inbound Supply Chain


Position Summary:

The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for leading process change, representing MFG Inventory Control in daily management meetings and communicating manufacturing metrics and analysis as needed.


Recipe for Success- 


  • Manage and lead an Inventory Control team of exempt and non-exempt employees
  • Ensure MFG Inventory is cycle counted and adjusted prior to MFG raw material ordering/ MFG production planning
  • Ensure all inventory control team members are trained/cross trained and certified as required to support operations
  • Schedule, delegate and follow up on cycle counts, shorts, out of stocks as required
  • Oversee all manufacturing related inventory documents and accounts
  • Create, analyze, maintain and distribute inventory reports for review by upper management
  • Analyze and create processes covering excessive days on hand, expired or discontinued inventory
  • Ensure root cause analysis is performed on inventory discrepancies by interacting with IC and other departments
  • Ensure timely daily and periodic inventory audits as scheduled/required
  • Provide feedback to purchasing on expiring scrap, DOH, safety stock and out of stocks
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (SAP), Business Objects (BO) or other systems for daily tasks/reports
  • Ability to learn various functions outside of Inventory Control for a holistic view of Manufacturing Operations



Key ingredients –

  • Must have at least five (5) years of shift supervisor/management experience
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience managing inventory in SAP a must
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
  • Aptitude to work with computer inventory programs/software
  • Must be able to work days/nights/weekends and/or holidays as needed
  • Must wear non-slip resistant shoes ability to work in cold environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft products (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Knowledge of SAP Warehouse Management System required

  • Ability to clearly communicate in English - Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
  • Previous experience in mobile equipment certification (Forklift, Hi-Lo, etc.) a plus
  • Strong research and analytical skills required
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently/effectively
  • Prior work experience in an Food Distribution, Grocery Warehouse / Supermarket or Commissary ideal
  • BA/BS in Management, Logistics, Engineering preferred
