Training Program Specialist
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and facilitates instructional programs and materials, monitors results, measures and assesses effectiveness of programs and looks for ways to continually improve initiatives and training programs.
Confers with management to gain knowledge of work situations requiring training for employees to better understand changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies.
Recommends leadership development strategies that are targeted for specific departments with the goal of increasing efficiency and effectiveness and generating optimal performance.
Develops teaching outlines and determines instructional methods utilizing knowledge of specified training needs and effectiveness of methods, such as individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, and workshops.
Selects or develops teaching aids, such as training handbooks, demonstration models, multimedia visual aids, computer tutorials, and reference works.
Coordinates and oversees train the trainer programs, ensuring selection of trainers is appropriate and maintains active roster. Evaluates trainees to measure progress and effectiveness of training.
Identifies potential new programs and vendor partners based on company needs and budget.
May select and coordinate training programs with outside vendors or professionals.
Oversees onboarding, design and coordinate the schedule of new managers, and ensures successful completion of initial training
Evaluates and continuously improves current training initiatives, incorporating best practices for results-driven adult learning.
Identifies and cultivates best practices and opportunities to leverage technology, LMS and other innovative learning practices into the culture of growth.
Collaborates extensively with other teams to ensure training aligns with company goals, objectives, and company values.
Ensures that all training materials and programs are compliant with laws and regulations.
Manages the creation and maintenance of all program-related training materials, train-the-trainer program, training metrics and measurement.
Remains up to date on corporate training trends and best practices.
Coordinates the scheduling of training programs for all employees with management.
Assists with other Human Resources related duties as necessary
Works closely with Human Resource Analyst on system training for team, management and employees.
Compiles data for annual and semi-annual reports.
Stays informed of Human Resources developments and trends by attending seminars and webinars.
Participates in the annual Wage & Salary Review process by conducting research and provide recommendations.
Participates in special programs as requested by the Association.
Conducts special projects and other related duties as needed.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Able to effectively communicate with all levels of employees and management.
Comfortable working flexible hours during periods of heavy demand; work nonstandard days and hours to complete the tasks required
Desire to foster a teamwork environment and promote positive organization relations.
Strong planning and organizational skills
Must have excellent customer service skills
Valid California Driver's License.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required in both group and one-on-one settings
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or minimum five years of professional experience in Learning & Development, corporate training, organizational development.
Human Resources experience
Hospitality operations experience preferred.
