Objectives of this Role:

We are seeking a talented and experienced Director of Analytics to join and lead our growing team at Fingerpaint Medical, a full-service medical communications agency that thinks creatively and solves complex challenges. Reporting to the Managing Director, Insights & Connections, you will own measurement strategies for our clients and lead a team of analysts in executing those strategies. This role requires senior cross-department collaboration with digital strategists, media strategists, medical strategists, and other key stakeholders to drive data-driven insights across diverse initiatives, including primary quantitative and qualitative research, syndicated research databases, and digital and media analytics.

The ideal candidate will excel at developing comprehensive measurement frameworks that align business objectives, strategies, and tactics into cohesive solutions while navigating complex, uncertain environments. You will manage ongoing analytics projects for promotional clients, identify new opportunities for expanding analytics in medical affairs, and play a meaningful role in shaping our company's analytical approach. Key responsibilities include mentoring analysts, educating clients on measurement strategy best practices, developing strategic insights for brand planning and new business opportunities, and collaborating with decision makers across departments to ensure projects meet analytics standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow a team of analytics professionals
  • Collaborate with senior leaders across departments to align on business goals and strategies
  • Mentor and coach analysts on technical skills and professional development
  • Foster an agency culture focused on discovering business insights and recommendations
  • Understand our client’s business, strategies, and objectives to develop measurement models to gauge effectiveness against those objectives
  • Work with internal and external teams to effectively measure tactics in multichannel/omnichannel ecosystem and understand how all the pieces work together
  • Make recommendations for optimizations to improve website/digital/media initiative performance via clickstream and VOC data
  • Help drive innovation in analytics methodologies, tools, and applications
  • Oversee creation of analytics reports using Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools such as Tableau
  • Provide oversight for tracking installations via tag management solutions
  • Consistently manage analytics data collection process and quickly troubleshoot issues as they arise
  • Present analytics findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders in a clear and compelling way
  • Educate and consult clients from a measurement strategy best practices standpoint
  • Create competitive intelligence reports as needed
  • Define data sources, metrics, dimensions, and dashboards to facilitate inquiry, analysis, and reporting; Ensure data hygiene and data integration across all sources

Job Requirements:

  • 6+ years of strategic insights and analytics experience
  • Analytical thinker, quantitative orientation, and excellent problem solver who can uncover the ‘why’ and the ‘so what’
  • Strong mathematical/statistical knowledge required
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience in implementing analytics installations via Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics
  • Experience using survey design software such as Qualtrics or SurveyMonkey
  • Experience developing and deploying surveys, with knowledge of survey design principles and methodologies
  • Proficiency in creating in-depth and insightful analytics reports
  • Experience implementing, measuring, and optimizing the success of multichannel/omnichannel campaigns
