The role

Taking part of Data Governance Team, this position will require good analytical and technical skills, it will be responsible for operational governance activities, having a clear understanding of business data needs, they are the key enforcers of data policies, processes and standards. Data Steward will have the responsibility to manage, investigate and follow up data issues in enterprise applications working with different areas to strengthen their competencies ensuring better data in compliance with regulatory requirements. It will also guide decision makers in determining where to place specific data while considering business purposes and preventing the occurrence of particular risks.
Tasks include but are not limited to support technical teams collecting metadata from various data sources and enriching it, promote collaboration and standardization across different teams, and monitoring/auditing the overall enterprise data quality and compliance.

 

What you'll do

  • Execute audits periodically to ensure that data is being properly managed and that legal/security requirements are met;
  • Identify causes of poor data quality and communicate findings to management and stakeholders;
  • Conduct data-cleansing initiatives to purge and eliminate corrupt or redundant information from corporate databases;
  • Support technical teams in the maintenance of technical metadata repository;
  • Perform data profiling, generate indicators and communicate the highlights to the stakeholders of the data;
  • Ensure that development processes include the steps, activities, and deliverables required to achieve high quality data and compliance;
  • Collaborate in the implementation of data policies and training materials, and set refresh cycles and reporting;
  • Work with the business teams supporting them in the documentation and maintenance of the business metadata and business rules;
  • Manage data governance support tools/solutions and conduct researches on products, software and services to support the data governance strategy.

 

Who you are

  • A professional with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Statistics or related field (with at least 2 years of equivalent work experience)
  • A professional with excellent English language skills, both written and spoken
  • An Excellent problem-solver, with communication, and time management skills and keen attention to details
  • A negotiator with excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Organized, proactive and able to work and set priorities independently
  • Able to work in a high-pressure environment
  • Knowledgeable of key database concepts, data models, etc
  • Knowledgeable of Excel and SQL
  • Knowledgeable of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) and NoSQL is a plus
