Excel Academy was founded in 2003 with the mission to provide a high-quality, free, and public education to students in East Boston and Chelsea Massachusetts, communities that are predominantly low-income and Latinx and historically have faced significant social and educational barriers. Our success in Massachusetts is proof that the opportunity gap can be closed and we opened a new school in Rhode Island in 2022. At Excel Academy Charter Schools, we believe that when a student has the support and tools to pursue a productive post-secondary pathway aligned to their personal identity and values, it can fundamentally change their life trajectory.

Your Impact
A Crossing Guard on our team keeps our students, staff, and families safe! You will direct and escort students across the street, stopping traffic as necessary, guiding or controlling vehicular or students’ traffic at such places as street and railroad crossings and construction sites; monitor traffic flow to locate safe gaps through which students can cross the street.

Pay: $17.50/hour
Location: Excel High School 401 Bremen Street, East Boston 02128, and Excel Greenway 375 Bremen Street, East Boston 02128
Hours: The Crossing Guard for Excel Academy High School and Excel Greenway will work the following hours:
Morning Shift
Monday - Friday, 7:30a.m. - 8:45a.m.
Location: Excel High School 401 Bremen Street, East Boston 02128, and Excel Greenway 375 Bremen Street, East Boston 02128

Afternoon Shift
Monday - Thursday, 3:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.
Qualifications:
Monday - Thursday, 3:00p.m. - 4:00p.m.
Qualifications:
- Must be physically able to stand for long periods of time in extremes of heat and cold
- Must have good vision, hearing and mobility
- Mental alertness, neat appearance and dependability
- Sense of responsibility for the safety of students
- Able to move to other locations when needed throughout the district
- Communicate well with others
- Successful results of Criminal Offender Record Information check.

Dirigir o acompañar a los estudiantes a través de la calle, detener el tráfico según sea necesario, guiar o controlar el tráfico de vehículos o de estudiantes en lugares como cruces de calles y ferrocarriles y sitios de construcción; monitorear el flujo de tráfico para ubicar espacios seguros a través de los cuales los estudiantes puedan cruzar la calle.

Calificaciones:
- Debe ser físicamente capaz de estar de pie durante largos períodos de tiempo en extremos de calor y frío.
- Debe tener buena visión, audición y movilidad.
- Vigilancia mental, apariencia ordenada y confiabilidad.
- Sentido de responsabilidad por la seguridad de los estudiantes.
- Capaz de mudarse a otros lugares cuando sea necesario en todo el distrito
- Comunicarse bien con los demás.
- Resultados exitosos de la verificación de información de antecedentes penales
