Reporting to the Director of the Equitas Health Institute, the Program Manager will have overall operational responsibility for implementing, evaluating, developing and managing all grant funded health education programs undertaken by the Equitas Health Institute. They will also have overall operational responsibility for identifying, evaluating, managing, and promoting the Health Research Initiatives of Equitas Health, its subsidiaries, and the Equitas Health Institute. The overall goal of the program initiatives of the Institute are to support/conduct/develop health education programs and research practices grounded in evidence-based and evidence-informed best practices that produce knowledge that is anti-racist, sexist, classist, ableist, homonegative, essentialist, etc. with the ultimate goal being the reduction of health disparities in the LGBTQ+ population. Supports these efforts on a statewide, regional, national and international level as required.
Program Oversight:
 Develops, manages and evaluates the health education infrastructure of the Equitas Health Institute.
 Provides overall operational management of the health education programs of the Institute (breast/chest health program; sexual health curriculum, etc.)
 Identifies and pursues relevant health education opportunities/partnerships
 Serves as the organizational liaison to external program /research partners.
 Collaborates with Equitas Health Leadership to identify research priorities and interests.
 Assesses and evaluates the research infrastructure for Equitas Health and the Equitas Health Institute for each project and makes recommendations to the Director of the Institute on capacity and feasibility.
 Conducts Structural Competency Assessments of educational and program partners/clients.
Convenes and coordinates a statewide LGBTQ+ Education and Research Collaborative and the Catalyst Lecture Series.
 Conducts focus groups, key informant interviews, surveys, needs assessment and/or other research or data collection activities as required;
 Establishes and oversees a community-based research advisory board (made up of individuals that would be represented/are under-represented in current research);

 Encourages a culture of community based participatory research among LGBTQ+ and HIV positive communities throughout the region;
 Performs data analysis, including but not limited to, performing and interpreting various statistical tests (i.e. T-Tests, Chi Square, Linear Regression) as well as relevant qualitative approaches, such content and discourse analyses.
 Submits original research (and/or assists other researchers with submissions) to appropriate publications when applicable.
 Provides oversight to ensure individuals involved in research studies received adequate training on issues related to informed consent, protocol requirements, and execution of research plan. Maintains documentation of training.
 In the absence of an Equitas Health IRB, establishes and oversees an internal research (or a human subjects review) committee to review and evaluate internal research protocols or protocols from potential partnerships;
 Serves as the organizational liaison to Internal Review Boards (IRBs) and ensures compliance with IRB protocols
 Cooperates with sponsoring agency and monitoring efforts related to human research participant protection and reports instances of noncompliance to the PI and the Equitas Health Compliance Officer.
 Continuously grow and develop cultural humility, exhibiting an understanding, awareness, and respect for diversity and inclusion;
 Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating unconditional positive regard to all Equitas Health employees, interns, etc. with an understanding, awareness, and respect for diversity;
 Undertake special projects as directed by the Director of the Equitas Health Institute;
 Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and other Qualifications:
 Master’s degree in Education, Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Political Science, Sociology, Social Work, or related field preferred.
 Experience in academic sponsored research is required.
 Excellent writing and communication skills.
 Proficiency in a variety of research methodologies (i.e. qualitative and quantitative methods of inquiry) and experience in survey/focus group/interview guide design.
 Data analysis skills, including but not limited to, the ability to perform and interpret various statistical tests (i.e. T-Tests, Chi Square, Linear Regression) as well as relevant qualitative approaches, such content and discourse analyses. Knowledge of statistical software(s) such as SPSS, R, or Stata is preferred.
 Support/conduct research practices that produce knowledge that is anti-racist, sexist, classist, ableist, homonegative, essentialist, etc.
 Demonstrated experience working directly with underserved populations, particularly the LGBTQ+ and HIV+ community and communities of color.
 Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications and other computer applications required.
 Must have reliable transportation and valid Ohio driver’s license.
Other Information:
Hours are varied including some evenings and weekends. Background and reference checks will be conducted. In accordance with Equitas Health’s Drug-Free Workplace Policy, pre-employment drug testing will be administered.
