POSITION SUMMARY: The Content Producer/Associate Editor will work to support both the Equitas Health Marketing department and Prizm Magazine, producing quality content for both existing patients and clients, as well as the general public. The Content Manager will produce respected, high-level editorial content, long features, news stories, including daily updates on news, video broadcasting, social commentary via web and email, webcasts, blog posts by editors, special contributors, and readers.

 

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

In-House Marketing:

  • Assess Marketing & Communication needs with regard to existing clients and patients,
  • Direct patient/client-facing print and digital assets
  • Write copy for patient/client facing print and digital assets and website
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for website from a patient/client user perspective
  • Partner with Quality Department to ensure health literacy standards and collect and review patient/client feedback
  • Visit all Equitas Health locations regularly to monitor and advise on messaging avenues for patient/client communications (Vital Signs, informational displays, posters, interpersonal interactions)
  • Collect patient/client stories for Marketing purposes

Prizm Publication:

  • Assist in the recruitment & oversight freelance writers across Ohio
  • Build a network of sources and contributing writers
  • Solicit and edit contributed pieces as directed by Prizm editor
  • Support content development for weekly e-newsletters, magazines, video production, and other content
  • Write long features, news updates and breaking news
  • Report from special events across Ohio; TRAVEL REQUIRED
  • Meet monthly print deadlines to editor, publisher and printer

 

EDUCATION/LICENSURE:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism or related field or equivalent experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Expert understanding of English grammar
  • Familiarity with standard style guides, such as the AP and Chicago Manual
  • Highly motivated with ability to work in a deadline-driven environment
  • Positive attitude
  • Understanding of trends, timely stories and viral content
  • Skilled in using reference resources
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to maintain a consistent writing style and proofread articles for grammatical errors, voice/tone and substance
  • Knowledge of LGBTQ news and issues is a plus.
OTHER INFORMATION:
