The Director of Billing & Order Operations oversees all aspects of accounts receivable and contract management. They play three crucial roles: leading billing and order operations, managing teams effectively, and driving change to support employee growth. This position emphasizes improving the efficiency of customer receivables and order processes. The Director leads a team focused on providing excellent customer satisfaction through accurate invoicing, comprehensive reporting, and prompt responses to contract and billing queries. Collaboration with the Finance Department is vital to uphold GAAP accounting standards and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis.


Job Responsibilities

 

  • Lead the team responsible for the accurate and timely execution of end-to-end billing activities for eMoney Advisor customers, encompassing contract administration, invoicing, customer inquiries, and collections management.
  • Manage the Zuora billing system as an administrator, overseeing technology upgrades, updates, and implementations.
  • Evaluate operational procedures and develop recommendations for new or revised methods to improve processes and automation, implementing effective solutions.
  • Build excellent “customer first” culture to enhance the customer journey
  • Lead a team responsible for accurate and timely delivery of end-to-end billing activities for customers of eMoney Advisor inclusive of contract administration, invoicing and charging, customer inquiries, and collections management
  • Translates business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage the Zuora Billing platform.
  • Serve as the primary contact for gathering information, feedback, and approvals from deal stakeholders (e.g., finance, sales) during the contracting process.
  • Provide contract interpretation and risk assessment to internal clients as needed
  • Understand and ensure all contracts and subsequent derived invoicing and revenue calculations align with appropriate GAAP revenue recognition policies and standards
  • Collaborate with the Finance department to ensure processes and structures followed by the Contract Operations & Billing teams support necessary reporting and analytic views required to effectively manage a SaaS business model
  • Oversee AR process to closure and in partnership with the accounting team to ensure transparency to AR related metrics and cash management forecasting
  • Produce and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly detailed reporting for accounting team, controller, and CFO in order to effectively utilize collection resources and improve billing practices to decrease outstanding aged receivables
  • Develop and implement internal controls and operating procedures across all areas of responsibility to ensure accurate invoicing and financial reporting.
  • Partner with Accounting team to prepare any necessary documentation for external and internal audits
  • Address multiple ad hoc analyses and requests from senior management and eMoney colleagues related to critical business issues.
  • Foster the development of a high-performing and highly engaged team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a major in accounting or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience managing contracts and contractual operations in a corporate environment
  • 5+ years of management experience
  • Highly proficient with quote to cash systems including Salesforce and Zuora, required
  • Experience with revenue recognition in software industry a plus

The salary range for this position is $144,000 - $174,000; commensurate salary to be determined based on skills, professional background and expertise.  This position is also eligible, pursuant to applicable eMoney policies, for the eMoney commission program, retirement contributions, health insurance, sick leave, parental leave and paid time off.
