Reporting to the CEO, the Head of People Experience (PX) is the senior HR leader for the organization.  They will serve as a strategic business partner to the CEO and member of the core leadership team while leading a team to support front line leaders and employees.

Critical to the success of the company, the Head of People Experience will drive business value through organizational design and effectiveness, people development, talent management, total rewards strategy and talent acquisition.  The role will help develop and drive the culture of the organization and build a high-performance, highly engaged workplace.  The role will be responsible for building and leading a best-in-class People Experience team to lead the company on strategic initiatives, change management, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, policies and procedures, learning and development and employee relations.  This role is responsible for continuously evaluating and optimizing PX programs and initiatives and promoting excellence across the organization.  The role will have responsibility to report to the CEO and board on HR initiatives and will strategically lead the People Experience team in accordance with the company’s vision, mission, values and multi-year plan and objectives.

Talented Leader

  • The Head of People Experience will help shape our culture of Collaboration, Passion, Innovation Integrity and Fun! Must have the passion for creating an environment that is dedicated to providing the vison and business plan that provides a strategic direction to the organization specifically around company culture and engagement, learning and development, total rewards, change management, organizational design, performance management and employee relations

 Strategic People Leadership

  • Serve as a member of the leadership team providing partnership to the business in developing strategic plans and determining the levers that will maximize business growth and profitability while providing an engaging culture to retain and grow top performing talent
  • Work with the firm's executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the company.
  • Build and lead an effective, respected PX team that is business savvy and results- oriented. The PX function should be viewed by all levels to be expert, confident, strategic, operational, effective, a trusted partner and vital to the company’s success
  • Through collaboration with PX team, develop and implement PX annual and multi-year strategy in-line with the business priorities demonstrating measurable objectives. Own the talent brand and strategy for the company
  • Provide leadership in developing and executing People Experience strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of company culture and engagement, learning and development, total rewards, change management, organizational design, performance management and employee relations

 Employee Engagement & Success

  • Be a company and employee advocate, staying close to the employee base while keeping the best interests of the company in mind at all times
  • Positively evolve the employee culture and introduce initiatives designed to enhance the existing customer-service orientation, high-performance, engagement and growth
  • Sponsor and lead the mission of the Employee Engagement Committee, a diverse committee of employees charged with helping to drive engagement through events as well as programs to drive forward initiatives such as social responsibility
  • Serve as an escalation point within the PX team to counsel employees on policy violations, safety issues and other concerns; following progressive discipline procedures and make sensible, intelligent decisions in difficult and deadline driven situations
  • Facilitate leadership team development; coach and counsel leaders on employee development, communication planning and processes, performance management, succession planning and organizational effectiveness among others 
  • Support and facilitate effective talent acquisition and retention strategies that focus on diversity in collaboration with hiring managers. Drive forward the company’s diversity & inclusion initiatives and programs

 People Experience Operational Excellence

  • Own the responsibility to report out to the compensation committee and board on People Experience initiatives
  • Own the end-to-end PX technology (HRIS) vision and implementation
  • Oversee all total rewards programs; including all benefit negotiations and renewals, compensation strategy, and serving on the 401(k) committee and ensure their focus on motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local laws and industry regulations/best practices
  • Evaluate department and company effectiveness through compiling and developing analytical data as relates to the PX functions. Use a data-driven approach to inform

 Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred
  • 15+ years HR generalist experience, including strategic support for the company to align HR practices with the business priorities and provide consultation on organizational development initiatives required
  • Experience in evaluating, selecting, implementing and maintaining HRIS systems that are forward looking, and help to support a tech-enabled workforce with high expectations for the technology support the end-to-end people experience
  • SaaS industry experience strongly preferred
  • 10+ years of people management and development experience required; some of this experience must include leadership development

 Skills

  • Proven experience applying knowledge of HR to specific business needs inclusive of total rewards; leadership and management; performance management; succession and talent planning; talent acquisition and learning & development
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, agile work environment and be able to successfully juggle multiple priorities
  • Strong understanding of HRIS systems supporting the PX functions
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state employment law (especially California)
  • Ability to understand the business to influence business decisions and ability to provide sophisticated advice and coaching in response to business issues
  • Experience in executing an HR strategy and influencing individuals outside of HR to take action in best interest of the business and employees
  • Confident in stepping forward to confront difficult issues
  • Actively collaborates and builds relationships to deliver results by using pragmatic ways to implement and apply concepts
