Position Overview

Reporting to the site Foreman/Superintendent, your specialized know-how, training and experience will add value to our project teams. We are looking for skilled construction workers who want to advance in their field of expertise.

Positions are available for the 2020 season, and will be based in Fort St. John, British Columbia.

Labour Pool:

We are looking for Skilled Labourers in the following specialized fields:

  • Skilled Labourers: concrete removal, concrete replacement
  • Skilled Labourers: structural steel works
  • Skilled Labourers: Concrete finishers
  • Skilled Labourers: Form Setters
  • Red Seal Carpenters / Lead Hand(s)

Core Capabilities:

  • 3+ Years of experience in heavy civil construction industry
  • Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Team work and excellent problem solving abilities
  • Comply with all company policies and regulations
  • Align with the company core values
  • Ethics and integrity

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safely and productively completing assigned tasks while maintaining expected level of quality
  • Accept responsibility for task assigned to you
  • Adept in the operation of standard construction tools and equipment to safely and efficiently complete the assigned tasks
  • Assist in the construction of retaining walls, and girders
  • Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
  • Maintain and enforce standards of cleanliness and organization in assigned trucks, trailers, equipment, job sites, and shop/yard areas
  • Ensure that all work activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner, and that all crew members are in compliance with government and company PPE standards
  • Enforce and work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations at shop/yard and on jobsites
  • Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials
  • Ability and endurance to sustain working conditions where heavy lifting is required up to the Occupational health and safety Act’s maximum
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent stamina is required
  • Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
  • Work outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold

Flexible working hours including occasional weekend work
