Position Overview                               

This position’s primary objective is to manage and maintain the assets of the company, including manufacturing facilities, retail stores, and corporate offices.  This position will be responsible for the maintenance of existing facilities and play a key role in the establishment of new facilities, including project management and providing guidance and direction to maintenance employees. The department’s responsibilities include installing equipment, conducting preventive maintenance, repairing broken equipment, pricing out any outside help necessary to fulfill maintenance requirements, and proper documentation of all maintenance-related projects. The Maintenance Manger will also conduct and oversee the completion of any and all maintenance related issues including facilities, utilities (e.g., electrical, air, water), grounds, HVAC equipment, boiler, and refrigeration units.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership in a variety of installation and maintenance tasks related to mechanical, electrical, building, plumbing, HVAC, and refrigeration systems
  • Establish procedures and manage projects to optimize the efficiency of the maintenance department and enable the department to function at the highest level of productivity
  • Assist with leading the preventative maintenance process, defining processes, maintaining downtime log books, driving improvements, and achieving targets
  • Establish work plans and maintenance schedules that support and improve company-wide equipment reliability
  • Manage the condition and maintenance of all company property and grounds
  • Install new equipment and proactively use problem-solving skills to conduct regular inspections and to mitigate malfunctions
  • Diagnose, resolve, and document malfunctions in machinery, equipment, and facilities
  • Safeguard and ensure adequate inventories of maintenance materials, supplies, and parts
  • In conjunction with the Controller, develop and manage the annual maintenance budget
  • Understand and provide leadership to appropriate governmental regulatory programs and policies, including but not limited to National Electrical Code, SQF, OSHA, DEP, and EPA
  • Maintain documentation to ensure all facilities stay in compliance with appropriate standards, including but not limited to SQF and HACCP
  • Utilize and manage relationships with vendors that assist with equipment and systems
  • Provide leadership in plant safety programs, emergency plans, and security
  • Participate as needed in sensory panels to help ensure product quality meets company standards
  • Effectively communicate safety, quality, technical and training issues to plant managers and supervisors
  • Work Safety – Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Food Safety/Quality – Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Other duties as assigned


  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a strong preference towards experience in an SQF food manufacturing facility
  • 2+ years of managerial experience in a maintenance capacity
  • Excellent organization, time management, planning, and prioritization skills

  • Ability to manage projects effectively in a fast-paced environment
