Position Overview
As key members of the Milk Shake Factory staff, our Team Members will assume a critical role in maintaining creating an inviting and professional retail environment. The Team Member will have primary day-to-day responsibility for fielding customer orders, completing sales transactions, maintaining a sanitary environment, and selling products to patrons. In addition to possessing a “can-do” attitude, our Team Members must have a calm disposition, superior attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and a reputation of great communication skills.

Essential Functions

  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for providing exceptional customer service to all Milk Shake Factory guests
  • Consistently create high quality milkshakes, sundaes, beverages, and snacks while adhering to all recipe and presentation standards
  • Fill customer orders for retail products including bulk and prepackaged chocolate
  • Assist in the preparation of retail items including chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate covered bacon
  • Learn and adhere to health, safety, and sanitation guidelines for food service and for the retail environment
  • Maintain and organize all work and sales areas including the stockroom, coolers, and freezers
  • Learn and educate store visitors about the Milk Shake Factory’s history, products, promotions, and events
  • Stock and merchandise the store including ingredients, bulk goods, and ready-to-purchase items
  • Build sales through sampling, recommending products, and exposing patrons to appropriate Milk Shake Factory items
  • Inform the creation of promotional activities based around local events such as sporting and university events
  • Assist in preparing the retail environment for promotional activities including seasonal decorations, rotating the seasonal product mix, and placing signage
  • Follow the Milk Shake Factory operational policies and procedures, including those for cash handling and safety and security
  • Responsible for performing all job duties safely, accurately and with honesty and integrity
  • Work Safety – Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Food Safety/Quality – Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal skills, and exceptional customer service skills
  • Ability to judge and appropriately react to business activity
  • Mental alertness and attention to detail and safety requirements
  • Manual dexterity and good eye-hand coordination
  • Previous hospitality and cash handling experience is a plus
  • Strong math skills and knowledge of basic measurements
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Team Members perform a number of physical activities to accomplish assigned duties, such as walking and standing for up to and including 4 hours at a time, bending, stooping, reaching and lifting up to 25 pounds
