Position Overview
As a key member of the maintenance team, Maintenance/Boiler Technician will assume an integral role in creating Edward Marc’s signature products. The Maintenance/Boiler Technician will have primary day-to-day responsibility for assisting the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager in ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment. The Maintenance/Boiler Technician must have production facility maintenance experience and at least a Class Four NIULPE boiler certification and be registered with the City of Pittsburgh.  


Essential Functions

  • Knowledge and experience with production equipment
    • Operate (e.g., start, run, maintain, and stop) plant machinery and equipment in a safe and efficient manner
    • Perform repairs on plant machinery, mechanical and electrical
    • Motors, gearboxes, pumps, agitators, conveyor belts, packaging equipment
  • Identify and document defects in equipment and any potential problems observed during maintenance
  • Participate and/or conduct safety trainings as needed
  • Follow all code requirements and safety regulations such as Lock Out/Tag Out Policy and use of protective gear when required
  • Work Safety – Ensures that all tasks and functions of position are performed in a safe manner at all times and that all procedures and requirements are properly followed to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Food Safety/Quality – Responsible for food safety and quality as well as reporting food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action
  • Knowledge and experience with boiler digital and pneumatic controls
  • Monitor and record plant equipment operating parameters
  • Other duties as assigned


Requirements  

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Mechanical and electrical aptitude to work on motors, gearboxes, pumps, agitators, conveyor belts, packaging equipment
  • Must have sound knowledge of controls and the skill to troubleshoot related equipment under his/her charge
  • Ability to lift and/or handle packaged goods and materials up to and including 50lbs
  • City of Pittsburgh Stationary Engineer license and Class 4 NIULPE equivalent
