Description

ECC is seeking an Operations Site Manager. This position is located on-site in the Western US and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of a large environmental project involving radiological services for DOE clients. In this position you will:

  • Manages the day-to-day activities of designated project to ensure that the facility operates in a manner which meets the goals or objectives of the project
  • Manages all aspects of performing and maintaining large open excavations, material handling and processing, and logistics for material transfer and transportation to off-site disposal facility
  • Manages preventative maintenance procedures and schedules for the facility and transport
  • Manage integrated work control program through engaging management, technical staff, and operations personnel for all phases of project
  • Champion integrated safety management system for all tasks and phases of the project to ensure environmental and worker safety and quality.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
  • Establish the work plan and staffing for each phase of project
  • Arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel
  • Confer with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget
  • Prepare project reports for management, client, or others
  • Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
  • Manage supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws
  • In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position

Requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years of experience managing radioactive waste excavation, waste management, waste handling and/or landfill operations.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience with DOE projects in the management of remediation activities
  • Professional registration in your field (i.e. PE, PG)  if  applicable or available, or certification as a PMP
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project cost and schedule, including experience with cost reimbursable and/or fixed price contracts under a U.S. federal agency contract.
  • Management experience within an organization of over 50 personnel with diverse backgrounds/skills/experience
  • Education Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Over 2 years of management experience of DOE remediation activities

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • This position requires the ability to utilize a keyboard and similar equipment typically found in an office environment. In addition, this position requires the following:
  • Frequent exposure to repetitive motions of the wrists or hands
  • The ability to view a computer monitor and distinguish figures or symbols
  • Sitting, standing, walking, bending, twisting, for extended periods of time as needed
  • Travel domestically and internationally to office locations and project related meetings
  • Incumbents in this position must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
  • Exposure to adverse environmental conditions (radiological and physical)
