Site Superintendent
Description
- Coordinate daily construction activities with the Project Manager, Project Engineer, Safety Manager, and Quality Control Manager to ensure alignment of schedules, priorities, and resources
- Enforce compliance with site-specific Safety Plans, Quality Control Plans, and federal regulatory requirements (e.g., EM 385-1-1, OSHA, USACE/NAVFAC standards)
- Plan, supervise, and direct all field construction operations, including site logistics, sequencing of work, and coordination of subcontractors and trades
- Serve as the primary on-site leader responsible for productivity, workmanship, and adherence to approved plans and specifications
- Assist in planning and executing project mobilization, site setup, material deliveries, and equipment staging
- Identify labor, materials, tools, and equipment required to meet construction milestones; coordinate availability and proper utilization
- Monitor construction progress and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, logistical, or operational challenges
- Lead and supervise craft labor and subcontractors to ensure safe work practices, quality installation, and schedule adherence
- Participate in progress meetings, safety meetings, and coordination meetings with government representatives and inspectors
- Support inspections, testing, and commissioning activities to verify compliance with contract documents and quality requirements
- Maintain accurate field documentation, including daily reports, manpower logs, equipment usage, and work progress
- In addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities, tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex field operations on large construction projects
- Strong leadership and coordination skills with the ability to direct multiple trades and subcontractors
- Working knowledge of federal construction contracting requirements, including USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal agency standards
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience on construction projects, including large building construction
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience leading multi-disciplinary construction teams and managing schedules and budgets for large construction projects
- Travel: Must be able and willing to work on-site at project location with periodic travel home with project management approval.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architeture or related field required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for this requirement.
- Experience serving as a Site Superintendent on federal or military large building construction projects
