Earthjustice’s Internal Events team is seeking a summer 2026 intern. We are seeking undergraduate students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. The intern will support the planning of Earthjustice’s October 2026 Litigation Training Conference – a 400-person, multi-day, in-person event for the organization’s litigation teams – by identifying various vendors, drafting the schedule and logistics for volunteers, helping design networking activities, assisting with event technology, and more.
 
The summer 2026 Internal Events intern is expected to work 12 weeks between early-June through early-September. Ideally, the intern will work 22.5-37.5 hours/week, but the schedule may be shifted if the successful candidate’s classes start before the last day of their internship. The successful candidate may work remotely from the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from our San Francisco, CA office.  

What You’ll Do
 
Under the supervision of the Internal Events Planner: 
  • Support design and logistics of various in-person and hybrid activities, including networking, giving-back and fundraising, wellness, and recreational activities, collecting presentation materials from speakers, answering event attendees’ questions, tracking inventory and expenses, and scheduling volunteers.
  • Identify and coordinate with vendors, including caterers, DJ for karaoke, massage therapists or other wellness vendors, the venue, etc.
  • Draft communications, such as information about wellness programs, accessibility details, in-app notifications, and more.  
Please note that the above serves as a guideline and that other duties may be assigned as part of the job’s requirements.
                               
What You’ll Bring  
  • Currently enrolled in a college/university program (i.e., must have been an undergraduate student during spring 2026 and will be an undergraduate student in fall 2026).
  • Working knowledge of online research and MS Office programs.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Great interpersonal skills – strong written and verbal communication skills, good listener, and able to troubleshoot issues.
  • Enjoys learning and working in team settings.
  • Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership. 
Physical Requirements:
 
This role may require the ability to: 
  • Sit for extended periods with occasional standing and walking
  • Type, file, and/or handle office equipment
  • Lift and carry materials
  • Read documents, conduct computer work and document review 
Compensation:
 
Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate that is considered taxable income. The summer 2026 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.18.
