The Analyst, Technology Operations supports the organization's information governance and data privacy initiatives by serving as a knowledgeable resource for end users—answering questions, sharing best practices, hosting office hours, and guiding stakeholders through system migrations and testing. This role contributes to the technical implementation of supporting systems and acts as an escalation point for end-user support, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively. Additionally, the Analyst helps shape and prioritize the team's backlog, ensuring work aligns with operational needs and program goals. The role supports the adoption of information governance and data privacy policies, processes, and tools, promotes consistent ways of working, and helps ensure teams understand and follow enterprise standards. The Analyst, Technology Operations also contributes to continuous improvement by surfacing themes, risks, and opportunities and coordinating follow-up with stakeholders. 
 
This is a non-supervisory position. 
 
The Analyst, Technology Operations is expected to work a full-time (37.5 hours/week) schedule, and may work remote from the following locations: U.S. 
 

What You'll Do

User & Operational Support (50%) 
  • Serve as a point of escalation for end‑user issues related to supported tools and processes, ensuring timely triage and coordination with appropriate teams.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing operation of information governance, privacy, and DLP tools by assisting with configuration, testing, deployments, and routine operational tasks.
  • Assist with system changes, enhancements, and migrations by coordinating activities, documenting issues and outcomes, and supporting readiness for release, including interfacing with vendors and contractors contributing to the projects. 
Requirements & Stakeholder Support (20%) 
  • Assist with gathering and documenting business and user requirements, use cases, and operational needs in collaboration with legal, privacy, security, IT operations and cross-departmental stakeholders from Program, Development and Communication teams.
  • Support discovery activities across systems and data sources by helping identify usage patterns, dependencies, and operational impacts.  
Program Support & Planning (20%) 
  • Support information governance, privacy, and DLP initiatives by assisting with program planning, backlog intake, and coordination of operational work.
  • Contribute to research and information gathering related to tools, features, and process improvements, and summarize findings for program leads. 
  • Help define and document success measures, operational metrics, and tracking mechanisms that support program goals related to risk reduction, compliance, and user adoption. 
Operational Reporting & Improvement (10%) 
  • Assist with collecting, maintaining, and validating operational data used or reporting, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Support compliance, audit, and readiness activities by maintaining documentation, inventories, and required records. 
  • Identify recurring issues, risks, and opportunities based on operational experience and user feedback, and coordinate follow‑up with program leads and stakeholders. 
Ongoing Learning 
  • Actively pursue professional development and contribute to a culture of learning by building skills and sharing knowledge.

What You'll Bring

  • 5+ years of experience in operations, IT support, customer or user support, or records and information management roles, preferably in a nonprofit or in legal, compliance, or another regulated environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and familiarity with project management/collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Working knowledge of records and information governance concepts and the ability to understand, apply, and explain related policies and standards in practical terms.
  • Ability to identify recurring issues, risks, and improvement opportunities and escalate or coordinate follow-up as needed.
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to draft clear user guidance, training, and updates.
  • Strong verbal communication and customer service skills; able to respond to questions professionally and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills, including coordinating across teams, following through on requests, managing multiple priorities, and communicating status.
  • Experience handling sensitive information with discretion and appropriate judgment.
  • Operate with initiative and sound judgment. Work independently, manage competing priorities, and apply analytical, resourceful problem-solving to ambiguous challenges.

Salary & Benefits

Salaries at Earthjustice are determined by working location and are commensurate with the experience required.
 
The annual salary range for this role in San Francisco, CA or New York, NY is $113,000 - $125,500. 
 
The annual salary range for this role in Seattle, WA, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, or Washington, DC is $107,400 - $119,300. 
 
The annual salary range for this role in Denver, CO, or Philadelphia, PA, is $101,700 - $113,000.     
 
The annual salary range for this role in Miami, FL, or Houston, TX is $96,000 - $106,700.
