Earthjustice’s Internal Communications team is seeking a summer 2026 intern. We are seeking undergraduate students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. The intern will work to improve Earthjustice’s intranet site (Atlas) by collecting and posting standard information about each program team, creating documentation for Atlas space managers and content creators, and more.
Earthjustice’s Internal Communications team is seeking a summer 2026 intern. We are seeking undergraduate students who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. The intern will work to improve Earthjustice’s intranet site (Atlas) by collecting and posting standard information about each program team, creating documentation for Atlas space managers and content creators, and more.
The summer 2026 Internal Communications intern is expected to work 24 hours/week for 10 weeks. The successful candidate may work remotely from the U.S. or on a hybrid schedule from our San Francisco, CA (preferred) or Washington, DC office.
What You’ll Do
Under the supervision of the Internal Communications Program Manager:
- Draft materials and language to provide guidance to Atlas space managers and content creators, post updated policies on Atlas for all Earthjustice staff, etc.
- Collect and post standard information about departments and teams.
- Support ad-hoc work to update various fields on Atlas.
Please note that the above serves as a guideline and that other duties may be assigned as part of the job’s requirements.
What You’ll Bring
- Enrolled in a college/university program as a sophomore or junior during fall 2026. Preference given to those in the communications or related liberal arts field.
- Working knowledge of MS Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Collaborative spirit for working with peers in team-based environment. Demonstrated commitment to Earthjustice’s values of Justice, Excellence, Inclusion, and Partnership.
Physical Requirements:
This role may require the ability to:
- Sit for extended periods with occasional standing and walking
- Type, file, and/or handle office equipment
- Lift and carry materials
- Read documents, conduct computer work and document review
Compensation:
Interns at Earthjustice receive an hourly rate that is considered taxable income. The summer 2026 hourly rate for undergraduate students is $19.18.
