The Manager, Employee Wellness & Safety reports to the Director, Health, Safety & Wellness, Labour Relations.  
 
The Manager, Employee Wellness & Safety will provide subject matter expertise, consultation and implementation on a variety of health, safety & wellness practices to foster a thriving and inclusive workplace culture.  They will have responsibility for Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia. 
 
 
This is a permanent, full time role working in Winnipeg, Manitoba or Kelowna, British Columbia.

How YOU will make a difference:
  • Support H&S national programs at the local level including the introduction and maintain of an incident management technology.  Must have experience working across multiple provinces.  Includes leading monthly reporting.
  • Consult with internal stakeholders regarding potential enhancements/improvements to the company’s Employee Wellness, Safety and Environmental policies, programs, processes, and standards and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Understand lab related risks and develop teaching aids and job aids to mitigate risks in addition to other administrative controls. 
  • Develop and monitor all Dynacare safety training material with a view to leveraging technology.
  • Conduct all internal safety and develop corresponding audit recommendations.
  • Ensure ongoing effective positioning and integration of corporate wellness, safety programs and services.
  • Provide on-going coaching and support for wellness, safety  services on a systems-wide basis.
  • Analyze Dynacare’s incident and accident data and claims management programs and processes enterprise-wide with a view to minimize workplace injuries and related claim costs.  Develop an area specific monthly report.
  • Partner with Corporate disability management team to facilitate short-term and long-term disability claims management .
  • Oversee annual compliance programs.
What YOU bring to the role:
  • Undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Knowledge of Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia safety requirements and legislation.
  • Experience in a healthcare setting with knowledge of biosafety.
  • Strong research skills.
  • 5+ years progressive H&S business partner experience, including 2+ years’ experience working with multiple sites and in multiple Provinces.
  • Experience supporting employee client groups at different organizational levels.
  • Experience leading safety process and program change initiatives.
  • Experience in developing and implementing occupational health, safety and emergency management system programs.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Biosafety experience in multiple Provinces.
  • Strong leadership ability, relationship development, influencing and persuasion skills at all levels of the organization
  • Results orientation.
  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Experienced coach with solid understanding of leadership principles
  • Strong analytical skills and superior ability to problem solve complex issues.
  • Ability to be both hands on and strategic.
