Are YOU our next Financial Analyst?            
The Financial Analyst is responsible for developing and carrying out financial analysis in support of various cross-functional business partners across the organization. Responsible for providing accurate and timely financial reports and related analysis to management, as well as assisting with the business planning process, annual budgets and interim forecasts. Responsible for day-to-day and monthly financial accounting activities that would include GL account reconciliations, revenue and operating expenses analysis, month-end close execution, preparation of budgets and financial reports as well as other special projects as may be required.    
  
This is a permanent, full-time hybrid position, working Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

How YOU will make a difference:                                                
  • Responsible for preparing and distributing month end financial department packages to Department Heads
  • Responsible for the monthly preparation of key financial indicator reports for assigned business functions
  • Responsible for preparing analysis reports, budget vs. actual for revenue and expenses
  • Support the preparation of the annual budget and mid-year forecast for the assigned business functions
  • Support the various stakeholders in developing and understanding their P&L’s, highlight key business drivers and emerging trends, and present other metrics as required
  • Gather information from various internal departments to leverage existing data and enhance financial narratives and business insights for functional and department decision makers
  • Actively participate in meetings and effectively produce and communicate analysis and recommendations
  • Proactively contribute to the Finance Operations team as a strategic thinker
  • Set priorities independently to meet required deadlines
       
 What YOU bring to the role:  
                                                          
KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE    
  • University graduate or equivalent experience with enrolment in a recognized accounting program
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a financial analyst and/or accounting role

SKILLS AND ABILITIES 
 
Technical Skills    
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook), computer accounting programs (Great Plains), financial reporting programs (Management Reporter) and AS400
  • Proven ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Excellent and proven analytical skills with extreme attention to detail 
Social Process Skills    
  • Strong interpersonal, decision-making and negotiation skills
  • Superior oral and written communication skills,
  • Ability to effectively manage constraints and competing priorities
  • Demonstrated success at building relationships and collaborating with a network of internal and external colleagues and subject matter experts
