We’re looking for a Materials Specialist to join our Core Laboratory team in Brampton, Ontario.
 
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

How YOU will make a difference:
  • Maintain and monitor appropriate inventory levels
  • Submitting orders, track orders and investigate problems
  • Records purchase, maintains database, performs physical count of inventory and reconciles inventory  
  • Perform quarterly inventory counts
  • Receive material orders and ensure all goods are received in an acceptable condition
  • Receives, unpacks and stocks inventory
  • Ensure compliance to standard processes and required regulations for the ordering, receiving, storage and distribution of materials
  • Identify and implement opportunities to reduce materials costs in the areas of consumption, waste and product design
  • Follow-up on and resolve service and problem issues
  • Identify incidents and non-conformances; escalate as appropriate
  • Ensure confidentiality of patient information.
  • Use personal protective equipment (e.g. gloves, lab coats) as specified in EHS procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe and orderly work environment
What YOU bring to the role:  
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in an inventory management/related field or equivalent experience, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Science/medical background is an asset
  • Medical Terminology
  • Working knowledge of WHMIS
 Working conditions:
  • Able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs (pounds)
  • Repetitive movements
  • Bending, turning and kneeling as well as walking required
  • Able to endure extended period of time in walk-in fridge and freezers
  • Perform duties in stationary, standing and sitting positions
  • Exposure to noise, chemicals, solvents and bio-hazardous materials
