Position at DNEG

The Role (6:30 AM - 2:30PM)

At DNEG, the Financial Controller is responsible for financial planning and analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and internal control. A Financial Controller may also be responsible for financial reporting to management and the board of directors, as well as compliance with government regulations.

What You Will Do
 
  • Pay invoices by verifying transaction information, scheduling, preparing disbursements, and obtaining authorisation of payment.
  • Obtain revenue by verifying transaction information, computing charges, and refunds, and preparing and mailing invoices.
  • Collect revenue by reminding delinquent accounts and notifying customers of insufficient payments.
  • Prepare financial reports by collecting, analysing and summarising account information and trends.
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by posting account transactions.
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and transactions.
  • Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation, issuing stop payments and adjustments.
  • Maintain financial security by following internal accounting controls.
  • Maintain financial historical records by filing accounting documents.
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and related information.
  • Build and maintain key relationships with internal stakeholders including studio GM, Head of Production,
  • Heads of Departments, Head of HR
  • Assist the Financial Controller in various activities for the month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing and reporting functions
  • Maintain financial statements to be IFRS compliant
  • Maintain a financial control environment in line with DNEG group finance policies
  • Ensure accurate record keeping to support claiming of any government subsidies
Must Have  
  • 5-6 years experience as an accountant
  • Good financial acumen
  • Understanding of state and federal laws
  • Attention to detail

  • Strong Ethics and Integrity
  • Ability to work with little supervision
  • Good relationship builder and team player
  • Intermediate skills in MS office and Google docs
  • Working knowledge of accounting software, preferably SAP
  • Experience of VFX industry and PDV film tax rebates, will be good to have
