Director of New Business

Business Development Los Angeles, California



  • Drive revenue growth: both topline and bottomline, through new business opportunity while adhering to company profitability metrics
  • Identify new client accounts and projects in-line with the DK Mission, positioning and growth trajectory
  • As needed, participate in developing and implementing the DK business development and marketing strategy and coordinate sales efforts with DK Leadership and biz dev team
  • Partner with MD & Account Management to ensure the smooth transition of new clients and opportunities into the organization
  •  Create opportunities and business development capability and pitch meetings for DK senior leadership, lead creative(s) and account team
  • Participate in assessing inbound new business opportunities with senior DK Leadership
  • Collaborate with other sales people and PR that may be focused on a specific market, territory or business vertical
  • Research and understand the business and marketing challenges of key prospects
  • Build relationships between agency and key prospects. Develop and maintain prime prospect list for DK as a whole
  • Coordinate and traffic all our efforts using current company tools and systems


  • Deep knowledge of the advertising, marketing and entertainment industry
  • 5+ years of successful experience in new business development in advertising, entertainment or marketing
  • Proven track record of sourcing significant leads and driving conversion
  • Strong entrepreneurial capabilities – ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
  • A positive and solution-oriented attitude
  • Strong ability and desire to work in a dynamic, changing, and often unstructured environment
  • Exceptional communication skills – ability to hear and understand the needs of internal/external stakeholders and then articulate concepts and solutions clearly and meaningfully
  • Strong presentation ability with proven success in selling initial agency capabilities and relevant work
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills – able to engage and motivate those around you
  • Spirit of collaboration with DK Leadership, Account and Production Teams, along with other members of the kyu collective to coordinate and support all sales efforts, marketing, branding, and promotional activities
  • Must enjoy travel and be prepared to visit where the business needs take you


The Director of New Business will report to the Managing Director. This position will be based in Los Angeles.
