Job Title: Mechanical Assembler 1

Job Summary: The Mechanical Assembler 1 assembles aerospace structural sections from parts, subassemblies and components. This is a day shift, non-exempt position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Basic mechanical assembly using shop equipment, such as C-squeeze, arbor presses, ground stud puller, cherry pullers, and shop hand tools
  • Assembly of various components, consisting of brackets, fasteners, sealants, adhesives
  • Operation of a drill press and rivet squeezer
  • Operation of an Arbor press and application of sealants
  • Operation of hand-held air powered hand tools and measuring devices
  • Requires fluency in English (speaking, reading and writing)
  • Requires basic math skills, including fractions and decimals
  • Must be capable of standing 8 hours a day and be flexible working overtime and occasional weekend shifts
  • Ability to use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches
  • Should possess good mechanical skills and be attentive to detail
  • Should possess basic computer skills
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work as a team player with minimal supervision
  • Must maintain a safe and clean working environment 


Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred: 0-1 year of Aerospace assembly experience

Shift: Day Shift, 5:00am - 1:30pm Monday - Friday

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Lifting up to 35 pounds
  • Standing, sitting and walking throughout the workday.
  • Correctable vision that allows employee to perform accurate assembly work
  • The Assembly 1 works in the Assembly environment throughout the workday; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, etc.
  • Possible skin and inhaled contact may occur with various sealants, paints, adhesives, liquid nitrogen, MEK, and chemicals used during assembly or cleaning of parts
  • Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required
  • Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy
