Job Title: Deburr Technician – Lead

Job Summary: The Deburr Lead assigns work and daily tasks to deburr Technicians and trouble shoots problems with part finishes, tools and discrepancies. Also works as a liaison between departments concerning Deburr matters and interprets specifications. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understands and is able to teach employees to meet customer requirements, such as BAC 5300 and BAC 5730
  • Uses and instructs employees on proper techniques of Technician tools such as deburr guns, pencil grinders, etc. to meet customer specifications
  • Follows and ensures employees follow all safety guidelines established by the Company, including proper use of safety equipment and relevant safety procedures
  • Assigns duties and work to Deburr Technicians
  • Evaluate employees’ performance and skill level
  • Oversees improvements to area and promotes 5 S concepts
Qualifications/Requirements:  
  • Demonstrates and instills a good attitude toward work; arrives on time for start of shift
  • Follows instructions and demonstrates strong attention to detail
  • Communicates well verbally and in writing
  • The ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances using measurement instruments and read customer engineering
  • Works independently to setup work area

Education/Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred: Five years on-the-job experience.

Shift: Day Shift, Monday - Friday

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

  • Lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Standing, sitting and walking throughout the work day
  • Use of computer keyboard and mouse
  • The Deburr Lead works in the machine shop environment throughout the workday; this environment may include exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and vapor from coolant, etc.
  • Possible skin and inhaled contact with various sealants, paints, adhesives, and other chemicals may occur.
  • Industry standard safety equipment is provided by the Company, and specific notice is posted in areas where safety equipment is required.
  • The Deburr Lead is required to wear hearing protection, safety glasses, and dust mask at all times in the work area
  • Safety training is required and provided by the Company in accordance with applicable law, industry standards, and Company policy
Safety Responsibilities: You will intervene when unsafe acts or situations are observed in any department at Damar Aerosystems and participate in coaching employees. You are also responsible for submitting documentation regarding near miss or accident reports to appropriate parties.
