Assistant Controller

As an integral part of our two-person accounting team, the Assistant Controller will directly support the Controller & CEO in a wide variety of functions including day-to-day accounting, cash management, HR administration, banking relations, insurance activities, property management, administrative needs, and other duties as assigned, developed or self-prescribed.

No staffing or personnel management in this role. The Assistant Controller ensures departmental success through process development as new ventures arise, accounting related duties and completes various administrative duties (approximately half of the position to include but not limited to: filing, generating reports, office related errands, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 3+ years Corporate Accounting Experience

Salary & Benefits:

  • $70-80k

  • Four separate property management companies
  • Home construction company
  • Weekly cash projections
  • Employee payroll
  • Employee expense reports
  • Prepares invoices and checks
  • Maintains accounting files

Property Management Responsibilities:

  • Liaison for tenants
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs
  • Lease renewals
  • Collections

HR Functions:

  • Develop/Uphold HR policies
  • Health care and retirement plan administration
  • Maintain employee handbook
  • Assist with new hire paperwork and terminations
  • Maintain employee files
