Our DEIB Commitment

We have developed three companywide commitments to anchor our Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) efforts and to create a shared language for accountability. Our efforts are aimed at improving all aspects of the CA employee experience and our service to schools.

We are committed to:

  • Implementing equitable hiring practices to increase the diversity of the CA workforce.
  • Building a culture of inclusivity so that all CA staff can thrive.
  • Delivering inclusive products and services that drive equitable outcomes for all students.

Equitable Hiring Practices

Our Talent team has worked to critically review all parts of our hiring process to remove the effects of bias. From how we write our job descriptions to the processes we follow in reviewing resumes, interviewing, and evaluating candidates, we are focused on ensuring an equitable experience for all candidates.

A Culture of Inclusivity

In keeping with our core value of embracing all, we are committed to fostering a culture of belonging for all team members. We have created Employee Resource Groups, DEIB book clubs, a BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) mentorship program, and several other programs to create spaces where employees' culture, experiences, and voices are centered and valued. We continue to enhance these programs and add new offerings based on employee feedback.

Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)

ERGs are voluntary, employee-led groups that come together around a shared identity or experience. At CA, they are spaces for discussion and community, and they act as powerful partners in our work to become the best version of an inclusive, multicultural organization.

Our ERGs represent team members from several affinity groups, including those who identify as Asian, Black, Latinx, LGBTQIA+, Neurodivergent, and Women. These ERGs are supported through the efforts of our DEIB team as well as leadership throughout the organization via executive sponsorships and allies.

Asians at CA

The Asian ERG provides a space to build community and connection through our many Asian cultures, encourage discourse and action on issues related to the Asian diaspora and other marginalized communities, and a place of learning and celebration of our identities.

Anyone who identifies as Asian or Asian American is welcome, including Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, East Asian, South Asian, Southeast Asian, and West Asian.

We are currently a group of more than 100 people (and growing!) whose backgrounds represent countries like China, India, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Vietnam. For many of us, we are continuously exploring the balance between our heritage and American culture.

Black at CA

The Black and African American ERG is committed to fostering professional networking, curating professional development opportunities, and forwarding the collective voice of African American/Black employees at Curriculum Associates.

Somos

The Somos ERG is for Latinx and Hispanic employees and works to connect employees across the entire organization as well as to the needs of our external Latinx/Hispanic community. They do this by creating connections, fostering collaboration, and providing a brave space for honest conversations. SOMOS CA is for anyone who identifies as part of the vast Hispanic/Latinx community. They welcome all—all countries, all languages, and all backgrounds.

Pride Ready

The LGBTQIA+ ERG provides resources, support, and community to CA employees whose gender or sexual identities fall under the LGBTQIA+ umbrella. The mission of this ERG is to advocate for the needs and desires of this group of employees in the wider CA community and ensure a seat at the table and a voice for everyone.

CA Infinity

The neurodivergent ERG works to create a safe, welcoming community and an accommodating workplace in which neurodivergent employees can thrive and have their voices heard. This ERG
advocates for an asset-based view on neurodiversity, recognizing and celebrating the strengths that neurodivergent employees bring to their work. CA Infinity serves the company as a resource for guidance on recommending, revising, or removing policies as they relate to neurodivergent employees.

CA Women

The Women’s ERG provides a safe, supportive space to discuss issues affecting women in life and work. The group is open to anyone identifying as women, including trans women and gender non-conforming folks who still have an association with womanhood.

The ERG currently has more than 300 members and offers learning and sharing opportunities to its membership through a private Slack channel, retreats, and opportunities for conferences and other women-led initiatives.

The purpose of the group is first and foremost to support and empower women and femme folks at CA and beyond.
