Sr. Financial Manager- CPA

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to help ensure auditability of the Department of Defense at a macro Treasury Index 97 (TI97) Defense Agency level and the Other Defense Organizations (ODOs).
  • Successful candidates will be able to identify and obtain transactional data, support the identification and resolution of accounting and auditing issues, develop strategic plans and implementation guidance to enhance the effectiveness of the FIAR Plan.

Additional tasks may include:

  • Journal Voucher (JV) reconciliation related support to include root cause analysis and development of remediation plans.
  • Fund Balance with Treasury reconciliation (FBWT) to include evaluating and remediating reconciled items.
  • Assist in drafting MOUs as well as evaluating the adequacy of existing complimentary user entity controls (CUECs).
  • Notices of Findings and Recommendation (NFR) analysis and remediation support.
  • Financial Statement preparation and analysis support.
  • Develop and execute a plan to document processes, establish physical inventory processes, assess and remediate controls and Key Supporting Documents (KSDs) and implement valuation methodologies (baseline & go-forward)
  • Direct the completion of projects within estimated time frames and budget constraints, coordinate project specific parties, and review and approve work products for quality, completeness, and adherence to customer requirements, and interface with the client daily.
  • Deliver presentations and lead client meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years’ finance and accounting experience
  • CPA
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance 
  • Bachelor’s Degree in finance, accounting or other related field.
  • Experienced in leading teams to include assigning work tasks to team members, overseeing and directing team member efforts.
  • Ability to develop, maintain, and monitor work products and project plans
  • A degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional presence is required.

 

Preferred Skills

  • Experience supporting the Department of Defense with financial management initiatives, including experience supporting FIAR related activities.
  • Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
  • Possess motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
