Position Overview:  
  
Reporting to the Senior Director of Finance, the Accounting & Reporting Manager is responsible for overseeing the branch accounting and warehouse bank compliance functions within the Accounting Department. This position will manage month-end reporting, bank compliance, support other regulatory filings and exams and oversee operational accounting.  
  
Job Responsibilities:  
  • Oversee day-to-day operational accounting including the review and preparation of journal entries.
  • Manage, train, and supervise team members in general accounting and other tasks.
  • Ensure compliance with various banking covenant requirements and reporting; including evaluation of new agreements to identify requirements.
  • Prepare monthly interim financial information to distribute to internal and external partners.
  • Support various compliance and regulatory reviews in coordination with other departments.
  • Develop reporting to support changes in the business and ad hoc data requests.
  • Implement new accounting standards.
  • Research G/L or other accounting discrepancies and collaborate with branch managers and other departments to facilitate timely resolution.
  • Accurately complete month-end assignments in a timely manner.
  • Perform variance analysis of financial statement accounts.      
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:  
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or, accounting preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ accounting, audit or reporting experience. 
  • Experience summarizing complex financial information and concepts.
  • Mortgage industry experience preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail, analytical and communication skills.
  • Excellent with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel).
