Position Overview:    
 
The Collateral Underwriter will be responsible for the assessment of all subject collateral originated though our Retail platform for conventional loans. Clear and accurate communication to the origination and processing department is a must.  Experience of the use of Collateral Underwriter is preferred.    
Job Responsibilities:    
  • Critically analyze, evaluate and decision appraisal reports in accordance with all agency and investor guidelines and standards.
  • Complete comprehensive collateral reviews in a timely manner to meet service level expectations.
  • Maintain pipeline and communicate issues to Appraisers, Processor and Originators.
  • Remains informed and current on all agency and investor guidelines and updates.
  • Maintain high level of customer service.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Works with post-closing department on any stipulations for closed files.
Qualifications and Skills:    
  • Three years mortgage underwriting experience.
  • Proficient knowledge of industry standard computer programs.
  • Thorough understanding of all agency and investor underwriting policies.
  • Adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Extensive analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
