Licensed Veterinary Technician 

​Critter Clinic located just outside of Nashville, TN is seeking an experienced and talented Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide support for all of our services. The ideal candidate should have experience working in a fast-paced, high-quality veterinary environment. 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Support veterinarians to ensure exceptional veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
  • Assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain efficient and accurate processes
  • Assist veterinarians with surgeries and procedures
  • Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records
  • Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
  • Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
  • Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
  • Assist with diagnostic testing including sample collection, catheter placement, venipuncture, radiography, submitting and running lab work, and emergency medicine.
  • Assist in patient procedures and surgeries: Perform sedation and anesthesia, preparation of patients, instruments, equipment
  • Plan, organize, and manage the daily flow of services
  • Obtain health history and ensure documentation is accurate and complete within the electronic medical record
  • Fill prescriptions and administer medications, including proper documentation, logging, and security of controlled drugs
  • Monitor hospitalized pets and perform treatments as directed by veterinarians

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

  • Veterinary Technician Certification or Licensure (LVT or LVMT)
  • Proficient in calculations (drugs, constant rate infusions, unit conversions, etc.)
  • Ability to perform lifting (up to 50 pounds)
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
