POSITION SUMMARY
The Transportation Driver is responsible for performing safe and efficient transportation of Senior Living residents via Senior Living Transportation equipment; vans and/or coach to medical appointments, shopping trips, day tours, social and/or recreational outings and special events.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:(Responsibilities, Accountabilities, and Competencies; May not include all duties of this job)
Job Duties
- Perform safe, efficient transportation via, van and/or coach to shopping trips, day tours, social/recreational outings and special events for residents.
- Accountable to manage receipts to Transportation Supervisor at the conclusion of the trip, fueling or repairs service as required.
- Operate ADA Compliant wheelchair lift/ramp Equipment, be able to push or pull residents in or out of the vehicle. Use specially outfitted seatbelts and straps to secure wheelchairs during transportation.
- Driver shall be familiar with the local medical facilities in the surrounding communities.
- Pick residents up at designated location and assist them on/off vehicle. Offer hand to hand service as required by resident’s needs.
- Comply with DOT Driver regulation and Inspection processes regulated by FMCS such as, Daily vehicle inspect, Driver Log schedule. Monitor basic maintenance requirements. Inspect interior/exterior of vehicle for vacuuming and washing, ensuring gas tank is full as required to standard set by Transportation Supervisor.
- Work collaboratively with Transportation Supervisor, coworkers and customers throughout CRISTA Senior Living.
- Maintain required statistical information by keeping a daily transportation log and working with Transportation Supervisor to establish data gathering methods for program evaluation.
- Report noted behavior changes in residents to Transportation Supervisor. Complete an Incident Report as required by each event at the time of the event.
- Participate in continuing education programs and meetings as required. HCA Relias Training, First Aid CPR, etc...
- In extended absence of Transportation Supervisor:
- Coordinate with local authorized shop to schedule repairs to vehicles as required and approved by Transportation Supervisor.
- Keep in contact with Coordinator and other drivers during the day by using a cell phone and headsets that are provided. Communicate with the Coordinator and Transportation Supervisor when any delays and non-compliant issues arise.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Belief that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior
- Is a committed Christian who is dedicated to continued spiritual growth and development as evidenced through a growing personal walk with God (e.g. daily spiritual rhythms of prayer, fellowship, Bible study, etc).
- Prayerfully seeks God’s will in their own lives and in their ministry at CRISTA.
- Engages our ministry including staff and colleagues through prayer, participation in spiritual practices, leading devotionals and other spiritual practices.
- Affirms, aligns with and supports CRISTA’s Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Statement (CCC).
- Conducts themselves in a manner which reflects well on CRISTA Ministries and aligns with its mission, vision, Statement of Faith and Christian Community Representative Commitment (CCC).
- Demonstrates the values of a CRISTA leader.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Three years driving experience.
Licensure/Certification:
- Valid Washington State Commercial Driver’s License class A, B or C, with passenger endorsement.
- 10 Year clear driving record by order of Title 49, 391.15 pre-employment, must turn in with application.
- First Aid certification or training and certification within 90 days of employment.
- Home Care Aid certification or certification within 90 Days of employment
Software and Equipment: Computer, Microsoft Office Suite, other
Other Considerations:
- Carry groceries and other items purchased by resident on and off the bus.
- Flexibility with schedule on a daily basis such as time reporting to or leaving work and flexibility with other changes like driving in heavy traffic, appointment cancellations and unscheduled additional activities.
- Protected Health Information at Level 2-Minimum level resident information necessary to complete assigned task and/or document actions.
- Read, write, communicate speak and understand English as necessary to navigate roadways safely and interact with law enforcement and emergency responders during emergency situations.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (Any Equivalent Combination of Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education
Knowledge of Seattle, Northgate, University district, Ballard, Mountlake Terrace and Lynnwood areas and some familiarity with surrounding geographical areas of King and Snohomish counties.
