Reporting to the Data Center Manager and working with the Engineering, Dev Ops, Development, and first response teams to design and implement best in class scalable enterprise level network architecture for Credible’s rapidly growing, always on, application software infrastructure.  Works with internal teams to assist in troubleshooting internal and external networking issues. Provide ongoing maintenance for LAN/WAN hardware/software, appliances, and vendor coordination. Create and maintain documentation of guidelines and standards for specific technologies.  Create and maintain diagrams of existing (as built) and future network designs. Ensures compliance with latest security updates and ensures compliance with industry best practices. Remain current on new hardware and software updates and features while evaluating alternative approaches and recommending new hardware/software modifications which will enhance the network services.

Overall Responsibility for the Network Engineer:

  • Provides support for the Credible remote CDN Application Software presence, and aids in supporting corporate LAN.
  • Analyzes VLAN, routing, IP addressing, and sub-netting.
  • Configures and administers LAN/WAN communications and network hardware including Cisco ASA, Brocade switches, and Citrix NetScaler load balancers.
  • Working knowledge of MS Windows networking and VMware virtualized infrastructure connectivity requirements.
  • Works with internal teams to assess functional requirements and produce detailed network designs that meet the connectivity and security needs of the company.
  • Uses network and system monitoring tools to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Provides problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience, expert opinion and standard operating procedures, including immediate resolution where possible.
  • Documents and proposes solutions for network problems and work with Dev Ops and other Engineering teams to achieve resolution.
  • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures to minimize system downtime.
  • Strong understanding on internetworking technologies including OSI Model, TCP/IP, VLAN, NAT, and routing configurations and protocols.

 

Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a B.A. or B.S. degree, or industry standard certifications (CCNA, CCNP, BPIPA, or comparable level certifications), and 5 years of equivalent work experience.
  • Must be self-motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and organizational skills
  • The ability to work and team effectively with management, staff members, and clients in a multi-tiered, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts.
  • Proficient in Brocade and Cisco configuration, troubleshooting and design, and SAN technologies.
  • Proficient with tools such as Solarwinds and Splunk and various protocol analyzers.
  • Project management, technical, interpersonal, presentation, and problem management skills.
  • Advanced or working knowledge of IPSEC, MPLS, QoS configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
  • Advanced or working knowledge with cloud-based technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Advanced or working knowledge with IPV4 and IPV6 configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
  • Load balancing fundamentals, design, automation, and scripting.
  • Crypto configuration, troubleshooting, and design experience.
  • Layer 2/3 VPN and Firewall knowledge and experience.
  • Physical cable plant and wiring experience.
  • Multi data center functional connectivity and design experience.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Visio
  • 24x7 availability and on-call participation on a rotational basis.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
