Reporting to the IT Director and taking direction from Sr. Hosting Administrator, working with the Engineering, Development, and first response teams to monitor and maintain Credible’s Windows and Linux servers for performance issues and stability concerns and to ensure high availability of our platform. Ensure all parts of the application work.


Works with internal teams to assist in troubleshooting internal and external systems issues. Provide ongoing maintenance for virtualized hardware/software, and third party services and applications. Create and maintain documentation of guidelines and standards for specific technologies. 


Remain current on new hardware and software updates and features while evaluating alternative approaches and recommending new hardware/software modifications which will enhance systems.

  • Handle day-to-day tasks such as server application deployment, user account management, and other routine maintenance.
  • Author and maintain tools that reliably manage infrastructure, specifically in the areas of:
    • Environment build out, maintenance and audit.
    • Application build and deployment.
    • Continuous integration/automated test execution.
    • System and network monitoring.
    • Configuration management.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technology problems in production and development environments.
  • Participate in architecture enhancement and scalability projects.
  • Learn to speak for the system in discussions involving application development.
  • Provide support when emergencies arise.
  • Work with IIS daily to support customers and ensure maximum uptime.
  • Use system monitoring tools to identify problems and recommend solutions.
  • Provide problem determination/resolution based upon personal experience, expert opinion and standard operating procedures, including immediate resolution where possible.
  • Document and propose solutions for system problems and work with Infrastructure and other Engineering teams to achieve resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with policies and procedures to minimize system downtime.




  • 3+ years of total experience out of which 2+ years relevant experience in Windows/Linux system engineering/administration.
  • Experience supporting production web infrastructure in cloud environments (EC2, Rackspace, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of basic applications and protocols: MSSQL, FTP, SFTP, SMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SSH, DNS, RDP, TCP, ICMP, and UDP.
  • Understanding of automation using languages, such as shell, Python, PHP, or Ruby.
  • Experience with systems and IT operations.
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code testing and deployment.
  • SQL and Data management skills.
  • Working knowledge of internet protocols and complete understanding end to end of how the Internet works.
  • Ability to work among multiple teams and communicate effectively to both technical and non-technical teammates. 
  • Proven analytical and technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • A bachelor’s degree (CS, EE or Math preferred) or equivalent work experience.
  • 24x7 availability and on-call participation on a rotational basis.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States
