Job Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for understanding, documenting and supporting current and future business processes as related to IT applications. The BA will focus on discovering and documenting business and technical requirements to be used in the creation of IT business systems/solutions, communication to stakeholders, as well as setting and managing expectations relative to timelines. The BA will leverage and support integration efforts associated with COTS and Oil & Gas specific applications to support the multiple business functions throughout the well lifecycle including, Operations, Land, and Exploration.


  • Perform business analysis to understand, investigate and document existing business processes.
  • Work with business unit stakeholders to define requirements and make recommendations on how to enhance, refine or re-engineer those processes leveraging technology.
  • Work with internal IT resources and 3rd party vendors to communicate technical and non-technical requirements, proposed solution architecture, user acceptance testing criteria or success factors.
  • Support the implementation of integration initiatives associated with the E&P Warehouse and corporate applications
  • Provide support and training to the business unit application consumers.
  • Leverage existing tools including SharePoint and Oil and Gas specific packages to solve process issues.
  • Document meeting minutes, agendas, and key decisions or outcomes and distribute information accordingly.

  • A good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • An understanding of data models, data management and data integration including ETL and near-real time flow technologies
  • Excellent presentation skills geared towards executives and senior-level business leaders.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to multitask by working multiple projects from an enterprise perspective.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with direct business user support and training.


  • Four-year college degree, preferably in Business, MIS, Engineering, or Computer Science
  • 4-5 Years of experience in Business Analysis or Requirements Analysis role.
  • Experience with SQL and FME.
  • Strong customer-service orientation with direct business user support and training.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical resources to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience preferred.
