Job Summary

The Systems Analyst/Developer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and/or development of custom software applications in the corporate enterprise.  This position creates or modifies procedures to solve complex problems in a computing environment and must be competent to work in all phases of applications, systems analysis and programming activities. The position will leverage and support both COTS and Oil & Gas specific applications in addition to writing custom applications that integrate with existing line of business systems.  

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Provide IT application support for in-house developed and COTS applications, focusing on implementation and development of enterprise level systems.
  • Assumes responsibilities for upgrades and primary support on critical business systems.
  • Coordinate change control of production deployments in compliance with SOX guidelines.
  • Work with other parts of the IT organization, including business analysts and/or system administrators to ensure quality application support and delivery to the end-user.
  • Assist in custom reporting BI solutions involving enterprise reporting tools.
  • Excellent customer relationship skills with the ability to work with people across the organization at all levels.
  • Interface directly with business users on application use and identification of issues.
  • Monitor and resolve application issues in multiple environments and work on-call as required.
  • Provide tier two support to the Help Desk on server software issues and ensure tickets are resolved within appropriate timeframe.

  • Advanced knowledge of relational database design, administrative concepts, and use. Proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/ 2008 R2/2012 is required, including creation of queries.
  • Familiarity with TFS, Source Safe or other source control environment.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to work independently to determine integration vs. application specific issue identification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS or a related field from an accredited College or University.
  • At least eight (8) years of recent related experience working in a development and support role.
  • Preferred experience with business solutions common in the Oil and Gas Industry, such as:  Procount / eVIN / Carte, Peloton Wellview, Aries, OFM, Compass, Cygnet, Esri ArcGIS Server.
  • Experience with large, complex initiatives, working with an in-house development team or commercial off the shelf application implementations and software vendors.
  • Business analyst experience with strong understanding of Pre-Spud through Production Oil and Gas processes.
  • General understanding of server OS functionality and operation of core services, IIS, file shares, and permissions.
  • General understanding of networking concepts and methodologies in a TCP/IP - LAN/WAN environment.
  • Aptitude to learn new concepts and technologies quickly and with minimal direction.
  • Experience with data and systems’ use of data including workflow and business processes.
