Job Summary

The Data Analyst for data science will be responsible for partnering with various departments and business units to support data scientists in implementing studies to provide robust insights to the business. This includes creating processes for receiving and transferring data to and from various business partner systems, transforming and combining data from various sources, designing schemas for the data. This role will also be responsible for developing critical metrics and analytics for the department. This individual must be capable of interfacing with all levels of the organization to achieve success.


Under limited supervision and working in collaboration with team members, the position responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with Drilling, Completions, Geology, Reservoir, Finance, IT and other business functions to collect, curate, and maintain data for use in data science studies
  • Design and develop processes to extract data received from various internal and external sources and transform them into meaningful data elements relevant to the data science studies
  • Manage the production support for data related processes to ensure business continuity, performance, and integrity of data sets for use in data science studies
  • Manage relationships and coordinate with external vendor and internal partners to manage data integrity
  • Act as project manager on assigned projects, ensuring timelines and work product expectations are met
  • Develop, document and maintain processes and procedures necessary to support the position

  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience manipulating, cleansing and analyzing large datasets, coupled with the ability to synthesize findings and make recommendations in written and conversational business formats
  • Experience working with various databases, systems and tools, but, specifically, with SQL
  • Experience with statistical analysis and working knowledge of programming languages (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, SQL, etc.) preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office® required, specifically Excel®
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities to a successful conclusion while adhering to deadlines
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
