Job Summary

Novice level analyst position responsible for performing clerical, data entry and research duties for the Division Order Department related to the correct and prompt establishment and maintenance of record title ownership to Continental Resources’ producing properties. The Division Order Analyst I will assume greater levels of responsibility through time and experience.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating record title ownership of producing properties in a specific geographic area through detailed analysis of title opinions, leases, assignments, deeds, probates, farm-out agreements, operating agreements and other legal documents
  • Determine ownership through laws of descent and distribution/intestate succession when appropriate
  • Review title opinions for errors
  • Initiate pay code changes and ownership transfers of intermediate complexity within SAP
  • Assist Sr. level Division Order Analysts with research and data entry
  • Research and respond to phone calls, emails and written inquiries from interest owners
  • Prepare Division Orders and Transfer Orders accurately and promptly
  • Process correspondence in a timely manner
  • Create Division Order files and file documentation
  • Provide support for other Land Department activities as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher with major in Law, Energy Management or Business
  • 1+ years of recent, relevant experience with an active oil and gas exploration company or a combination of education and relevant work experience required
  • Requires novice level knowledge of Land concepts and Division Order responsibilities
  • Experienced with land data systems such as SAP, QLS, etc. a plus
