Facilities Manager

The Facilities Engineer Manager is responsible for supervising a staff of professionals who design and build the necessary facilities on time and on budget to support upstream oil & gas operations. Strong project engineering, management, leadership and interpersonal skills and are a must as the successful candidate will be heavily integrated with multiple departments focused on executing corporate goals.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manages, delivers and is accountable for the design and execution of infrastructure projects including but not limited to:
    • oil gathering and storage
    • gas gathering/compression
    • salt water disposals (SWD) and produced water pipeline network
    • expansion of existing facilities
    • new multi well battery design
    • electrical system design and upgrades
    • instrumentation & controls
  • Owns and approves AFEs for project from design through handover
  • Ensures coordination with Land, Regulatory, Procurement and Marketing to secure required approvals and scheduling
  • Ensures the design, startup and operability meets budget and plan
  • Ensures project designs are in compliance with all applicable codes, regulations and standards
  • Work closely with field personnel and associated contractors to provide field support and supervision through all project phases, including coordination with operations to develop operations, maintenance, and start-up procedures
  • Serves as technical resource for troubleshooting project related issues and problem solving, working with all levels of field and office personnel
  • Proactively communicates project information to all stakeholders.
  • Responsible for mentoring and supervising direct reports. Expected to facilitate the professional growth of members of the team by empowering them in their projects
  • Collaboration with field staff on facility and infrastructure design and changes
  • Frequent travel to field operations, minimum of once per quarter
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Skills in interpretation of typical drawings (Plot Plans, Electrical One-line drawings, Equipment Layouts, Piping Plan and Isometrics, Process Flow Diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, etc.), Alignment Sheets, data sheets, equipment requisitions, instrument lists, equipment lists, etc
  • Ability to create, manage and take accountability for large capital budgets
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to be an effective multidiscipline team leader
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplined team environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within and outside of the organization

  • Understanding of all applicable health and safety regulations and industry standards and practices such as ASME, API, NACE, NFPA, DOT,BLM etc.
  • Ability to understand business needs and aligning facilities projects with those needs
  • Must be able to multi-task effectively and to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
  • General knowledge of power and electrical systems
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.

Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college/university.
    • At least 15 years of experience in design of onshore upstream oil and gas operations, water production and/or processing/treatment facilities
    • Proficiency in hydraulic analysis, equipment sizing/design, and system design.
    • At least 15 years of experience in Facilities construction and/or experience in operations is preferred.
    • At least 5 years of experience in project management and facility construction with budgetary responsibilities.
    • Experience with simulation programs (PipePhase and/or ProMax) preferred.
    • Operational knowledge of needs of other disciplines inside CLR, i.e. drilling, completions, production, land and facilities
    • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
    • Registered Professional Engineer is preferred
    • Valid driver’s license
