Job Summary

The Systems Analyst/Developer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining and/or development of custom software applications in the corporate enterprise.  This position creates or modifies procedures to solve complex problems in a computing environment and must be competent to work in all phases of applications, systems analysis and programming activities. The position will leverage and support both COTS and Oil & Gas specific applications that integrate with existing line of business systems.   


  • Provide IT application support for applications, focusing on implementation and development of enterprise level systems.
  • Assumes responsibilities for upgrades and primary support on critical business systems.
  • Coordinate change control of production deployments in compliance with SOX guidelines.
  • Work with other parts of the IT organization, including business analysts and/or system administrators to ensure quality application support and delivery to the end-user.
  • Interface directly with business users on application use and identification of issues.
  • Monitor and resolve application issues in multiple environments and work on-call as required.
  • Provide tier two support to the Help Desk on software issues and ensure tickets are resolved within appropriate timeframe.
  • Work with business stakeholders to define requirements and make recommendations for enhancements to optimize use of applications.
  • Leverage existing tools including SharePoint and Oil and Gas specific packages to solve process issues.

  • An understanding of oil and gas marketing data and processes as relates to the well lifecycle
  • Proven troubleshooting skills to work independently to determine integration vs application specific issue identification

  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.
  • Ability to multitask by working multiple projects from an enterprise perspective.


  • Four-year college degree, preferably in Business, MIS, or Engineering
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in Application Administrator or IT Analyst role preferred
  • Experience with an ETRM system (such as Allegro) desired
  • General understanding of server OS functionality and operation of core services, files shares, and permissions
  • Aptitude to learn new concepts and technologies quickly and with minimal direction
  • Experience with data and systems’ use of data including workflow and business processes
  • Strong customer-service orientation with direct business user support and training
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical resources to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Oil and Gas industry experience preferred
