Senior IT Systems Analyst

Summary

The Senior IT Systems Analyst will be responsible for supporting CLR’s Storage, Virtualization technologies, Servers Operating systems, and UNIX Infrastructure as well as related technologies for operations, project deployments, and related applications and services.

Duties/Responsibilities     

  • Manage the implementation, configuration, deployment, and ongoing support of the NetApp storage infrastructure hosting business applications
  • Implement operational strategy and standards, and applied research that align with the business IT strategy, vision, and realization; including project and budget planning and execution
  • Analyze and resolve complex enterprise systems hardware and software related problems; interface with peer teams and vendors to find, coordinate, and implement solutions
  • Deploy and manage ESXi Servers and ESX (vSphere)
  • Deploy new Windows based VMware servers
  • Install operating system patches/upgrades and hardware firmware updates on a routine basis
  • Test, tune, and monitor performance of systems as required
  • Responsible for data replication to offsite storage and DR site
  • Windows server administration including Active Directory, Exchange, DFS, DNS, SCCM, SCOM, and WSUS
  • Monitor, track, assess, and report available capacity on a routine basis to help determine capacity increases/decreases and technology refreshes
  • Function, relatively independently, under the broad direction of senior professionals or team leads
  • Coordinate and communicate maintenance and other authorized service interruptions
  • Produce metrics and status reports to present infrastructure performance and work initiative progress to leadership
  • Implement infrastructure services modifications and updates based on architectural requirements and designs
  • Design, code, and implement automation and reporting scripts for infrastructure services as needed
  • Analyze and understand complex system, application, and security logs while performing root cause analysis of various issues related to the above services
  • Adherence to security best practices, access control and security policies
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner
  • Provide on-call 24x7 support as needed

Skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Proven team player
  • Proficient technical skills in Windows Server operating systems, and Linux/UNIX based operating systems
  • Proficient technical skill with Operating System Clustering, Citrix/Xen App/Xen Server/Xen Desktop, VMware View, related VDI technologies including session brokers, Active Directory and Group Policy a plus
  • Advanced scripting knowledge in PowerShell, Perl, Ruby, Shell/Bash, and/or vbscript a plus

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in CS or MIS preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of senior level IT experience; preferably in Enterprise Level Data Centers with production environments of 500 servers or more
  • Experience with NetApp Clustered Data ONTAP Operating System and MetroCuster
  • Knowledge and experience in fiber channel, iSCSI, NAS, CIFS storage protocols
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with VMware including site recovery manager (SRM)
  • Experience with NetApp FAS\AFA series in a large scale enterprise environment which includes installation, integration, and ongoing operational support
  • An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test.
